Dr. Pepper rocks! but if you like to travel be warned- the Dr. Pepper in England does NOT taste the same.
No, it doesn't. It took me a while to get used to it, but it's not bad. What I really loved when I was over there, though, was Schwepp's Blackcurrant. Man, was that stuff good! I wish they had it here! All I've seen of Schwepp's here is ginger ale. :frown:

Hi Beebers! Welcome to Muppet Central, where we tend to stray from the subjects and all things turn in the end to muffins! Or do I mean Muppets? Nah... :concern:
Straying is good. If anyone wants some serious entertainment go over to General Discussion, Stupid People Thread. We have strayed cheerfully straight into the sewer over there. Thanx for nice welcome.

Soda

To all the young'uns out there:

Soda used to always be in glass bottles, without high fructose corn syrup. It was just soda and dang, it was good. It's a fact of science that all beverages and foodstuffs taste better when encased in glass. (This is totally true.)
In the 1970's, to cut costs and increase profit margin, soda manufacturers, ketchup people, etc., began adding high fructose corn syrup in high ratios as a filler. Read your labels - it's the number one or two ingredient in a shocking amount of food/beverage items we use every day.
It not only compromises flavor totally but it's now known that our insulin does not recognize or deal with it. It is a culprit in the rapidly increasing development of Type II diabetes and one of the really bad guys in the American bodyweight battle.
It's very bad news so find sodas and other stuff that don't have it, in glass. You won't believe how much better they taste. Be good to yourselves.
Who invented and first styled the plastic soda bottle?
The brother of Andrew Wyeth, the great American artist.

Okay, class dismissed.

Muffined is a term used when a thread goes off topic (muffining a thread), but it soon became a running gag started up by Emmy and Jackie.

I've noticed that threads start over here (making hand gestures) and end over here (usually with one of my replies (can you hear the death knell (oops, parentheses within parentheses cause confusion))). I just never knew. Thanks. I shall sleep soundly tonight.

In Florida, you can get Sprite, Coca-Cola, and Barq's root beer in the classic glass bottles, and believe me once you have soda out of glass bottles you never will want it out of a can or plastic bottle! Oh yeah, my favorite soda is Squeeze. No corn syrup! It's made with pure cane sugar.
