I machine sew my mouth....yeah I'm not a big fan of whipstitching. if anything a backstitch or a ladder stitch makes me happier. But whipstitch is really fun to say.
Thanks Stacey. I'm going to try that too. Hopefully get some tests done during the relative quiet of the holiday.

Puppet fix and New Puppet

Thanks all for your input. On the puppet in question, I cut out a new mouth plate and glued it over the offending stitches. After adding a final tongue, I think the puppet - Gustavo - looks great.

Over the last 2 weekends, I also worked on my new puppet Geraldine. This time, I glued in the mouth plate and was very satisfied with the results. I had fun with the hair and found some great costume pieces to complete her look. She's a girly girl who loves the color purple. I'm not too thrilled with her shirt for now but, all her elements are there. The shirt would be the only thing that changes.

Gustavo's mouth looks way better now. Good job.

The girl looks like a relative of Marge Simpson.

Thank you Rax. Yes - it is rather Marge Simpson-esque. I hadn't thought of that.

I love the shirt combined with the tutu, makes her look like she is wearing her favorite tutu and mom made her wear a color coordinated shirt. Overall I think she is adorable. To me she looks like a sweet little girl who knows what she wants and is determined to have her way.

Thanks Jomama! I'm starting to like the shirt more. It's kind of like she has on her little girl shirt and just threw on the tutu to play.
