Oh poor everyone. Don Knotts will be missed. I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of the old Mr. Limpit. I just bought thursday. For some reason it makes me feel that I was thinking about him when I bought it. Rest in Peace Mr. Knotts. We sure will miss you.

I too am gonna miss Don Knotts. I loved his performances as Barney Fife and Mr. Furley. And how he did cartoon voices like himself in the Scooby Doo Movies and Johnny Bravo, a fish in the Incredible Mr. Limpett, a turtle in Cats Don't Dance, and a mayor turkey in Chicken Little.

RIP, Don Knotts.

Boy I'm telling you, I sure am talking a lot about tears today! Just made a couple posts about how I shed tears at past funerals and at the Big Bird segment of the death of Mr. Hooper. And now this Don Knotts thread. When I heard this in the news last evening it brought me very close to tears. I mean, it's always sad to hear of anyone dying even if we didn't know them personally. But something about hearing the death of Don made me pause and grieve a little. He was that likable to me, I guess. I loved him in anything he did, particularly "Andy Griffith" and "Three's Company." Truly one of the funniest actors of all time. Thanks for all the laughs, Barney and Mr. Furley. I'm sure it helped my blood pressure many times!

   Don will be greatly missed. You think your favourite stars are going to be around forever though of course you really know that's not true.
I really only knew about him through his TMS appearance but no doubt he was a fine actor on his television series.
I hope he RIP

Darren McGavin (Don Knotts' co-star in the Disney film, "No Deposit, No Return") also passed away this weekend; he was 83 (two years older than Don). He was better known as the "Old Man" in "A Christmas Story" and Carl Kolchak (my favorite role of his) in "The Night Stalker" series. Like Mr. Knotts, he was a respectable actor as well, and I think I'll miss him as much as I'll miss Don.

Man, the news is becoming sadder and sadder by the minute.:frown:

2 young for Andy Griffith

I was too young for Andy Griffith, so I don't remember that much of him in it. I did see a few eps of 3's company with him. While I couldn't deal with the theme of the show too much: 1 guy living with 2 girls and pretending to be homosexual. (I know the censors are going to block the word out), I did enjoy Don's wild hawaiian shirts and his character's attempts at living a lifestyle that he really wasn't suited for.

I saw part of the Mr. Limpit movie on TV and I would like to rent a tape of it, but I don't have the time. Now that my wife is in her second trimester and I'm up to my neck in students, plus I have my present daughter who is soon to be a BIG SISTER, time is the one thing that I don't have much of.

I missed the Don Knotts ep of the Muppets, since I don't have cable I'll have to wait to see if I can afford to get the Muppets shows on DVD I know the first season's out, and I hope the second season comes out soon.

WOW they didn't

Ok, they didn't at least not right away. We'll see what Philip does. Some people are going to say that I should have said gay, but I don't approve of that meaning of the word gay, I still think it should be used to mean innocent happiness.
