No, Super Grover and Big Bird will not be in the parade this year. :sympathy:
Heh, well it wouldn't have been my first choice to remove two classic and time proven characters just to take a chance on a new and as yet unproven character. Past experience I think has shown that such gambles don't end up well in the long run.

I call it a risky move on Sesame Workshop part, because Abby Cadabby has just appearaed in two seasons on the Show. :frown:

No Big Bird? I mean, Abby's nice and all. But you're getting rid of the star of the show. Even Elmo wouldn't do that. Don't understand why they don't have funding for both balloons.

Anyone know what other balloons will be around, nonmuppet related?

Maybe they can alternate balloons every year? Just a thought.

They often change and rotate balloons year to year.

The Kermit balloon appeared in 1977, 1985, 1987, 1990, 1991, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2007. Big Bird appeared in balloon form in 1986, 1998, 2001, and 2005. Super Grover appeared from 2003 to 2006. And Abby Cadabby will appear in 2007. Who knows what 2008 will have!

And now for something really different...

Hey - Who else has a parade with Muppet balloons besides Philly and NYC?

I am going to record the NBC presentation of the parade, so I can fast-forward during those useless Broadway performances

And every year, they have that turkey in a pilgrim's outfit and they do a New Years' Eve-style countdown to start it, but at one, they go "Let's have a parade!"(TM) And every year now, they have a Sesame Street float? Will they be having it this year? I know last year's Macy's parade had Herry Monster making an appearance. And do the actual show's puppeteers operate the Muppets or are they performed to a pre-recorded vocal track?

I wonder if there aill be any Broadway stuff, considering the stagehands strike.
