Common misconception. Claymation hasn't been claymation for years now. It's usually mostly small puppets with replaceable parts, especially mouths. That's what Nightmare Before Christmas was. Not a bit of clay used in the entire movie.

Of course, on technicalities, some of them still use clay to make the puppets, but most of the time it's some other material.

That said, it's my single most favorite form of animation. It's a long, frustrating, delicate process that's even harder than it looks (and it didn't exactly look like child's play to begin with), and when it comes together, it's insanely beautiful.

I hate the fact 3-D theaters weren't too plentiful when Coraline came out. that was the movie to see in 3-D.

i have always enjoyed it wallace and gromit have always made me smile as a kid and still does today same with puppetry

Of course! Stop-motion is one of the best types of animation out there!
