Unpopular opinion: Tom Hanks is not the spitting image of Mister Rogers people make him out to be.

I'm sorry, I love Tom Hanks, but he's just not convincing. I also don't understand why he's giving a native Pennsylvanian like Mister Rogers a southern drawl.

We did, but it was a straight-forward documentary film; this is a fictionalized/dramatized biopic.

Fred had a very specific Pittsburgh accent that's sort of hard to replicate- a "southern drawl" might've been the closest thing he could reach to it.
