Boy does this thread take me back! I wish somebody somewhere would release this stuff on DVD, especially The Letter People...man I loved that show!

Here's a site that talks about the great educational and instructional weekday shows that were on PBS. Does anyone recognize any of these?

Do I ever remember these shows! And I remember a whole lot of those other shows that you added too, Drtooth!

I have a local station that airs all of these programs and I remember evrything about them in detail from like 22/21 years ago, lol!

All I know is that I really enjoyed them (other than "all About You" that was just dull), I was always waiting for them to be over so Reading Rainbow or Sesame Street or something would come on.

Vegetable Soup I really remember... especially the disturbing puppet segments (those things... those things, yo... Realistic human puppets at least a decade before Dark Crystal don't sit too well). But it was on Sunday Mornings at 6 or 7 on a weird channel that became Ion a couple years ago (after being I and Pax).

I actually found some of these shows to be quite entertaining. But yeah! Sesame Street was always the most fun!

Now here's a show I definitely remember.

Math Makers

I recently paid tribute to The Letter People on Muppetfreak (also recalling how being able to watch it at home was the best part of a sick or snow day). Mulligan's Stew - that sounds familiar - i've been trying to remember the name of one of those kinds of shows - it had maybe about five kids and a goofy slapsticky adult that was always getting hit with pies - was that Mulligan's Stew?

Okay.... Apparently I got Parlez-Moi mixed up with Telefrancais

I thought it was odd that we got 2 French language programs in Massachusetts, since barely anyone here speaks it (at least that I know of). But considering their from Canada, it makes a lot more sense.

Wow, I don't remember seeing this one at all. Thanks for sharing. I do remember the Math Patrol though.

I am still looking for someone that remembers "The Big A". It was an art program, and 30 mins long, but I seem to be the only one who does. Even on my PBS channels (KQED)website you really have to dig to even know it was real -.-
