I’ve barely watched any of the HBO episodes, but from what I’ve seen, a big liability to the show is the 30-minute running time. Having a whole hour used to work to their favor, but now, they think children can’t handle slow moments anymore, so they cut it down.
That was indeed the intention. Here’s what Muppet Wiki has to say:
“The curriculum for Season 7 focuses on children with learning disabilities through segments based on research by the Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation. The segments will be presented each Wednesday during the first 20 minutes of the...
I was browsing the American Archive of Public Broadcasting website, and I came across a promo video for Wichita’s PBS station which features a brief scene from Episode 1350:

Yeah, I know this isn’t a YouTube video, but I doubt we’ll ever...

I took...
Yeah. When Sprout aired seasons 33-35, they usually cut out the Spanish Word of the Day segments. Their reruns of Season 39-42 also got rid of Murray Has a Little Lamb. What is the deal with that? Why are they so intent on removing everything Spanish-related?
On that same record is Allan Melvin as Yogi. Even earlier than that are those awful Golden Records albums with Frank Milano and other NYC voice talent.
I don't know why, but something about Matt's voice for The Count really bothers me. I guess Jerry's voice has been permanently ingrained in my mind that I can't imagine someone else doing it.
Filming locations of classic inserts like the "Transportation" film from Episode 0005, or the one about flowers set to Vivaldi music which has an amazing shot at the end of 1969 Brooklyn, or maybe the one with Gordon riding his bike around the city.
