I submitted a design, called "Chase in Outer Space". Check it out, rate it, and tell me what you think! http://www.threadless.com/fragglerock/chase-in-outer-space/
I sat on this project way too long considering how easy it turned out to be. I bought 3 of the flag mounts, and added PVC pipe supports to hold 2 puppets each. It only took about an hour to get them all built- a bit longer to arrange on the wall but still super easy. Total cost was about $40...
Here's the blog post I did about making my daughters puppet. It was pretty fun. I'm not really a sewer, so while I like the hands on aspect of physically making a character, I haven't given much thought to really making puppets before. This has made me reconsider doing something like this again...
Ok after a bit more research I have found some simple plans for a rod puppet. I guess what I'm asking is, rather than blindly guessing which plans will work best, does anyone here have a favorite simple rod puppet design? I just need to give it arm rods and have a head that can turn idependently...
My daughter has to make a puppet of a celebrity, and I'd like to help her make a rod puppet- by this I mean a puppet with a stick supporting the body, and rods that control the arms. Parts of it seem very simple and straightforward but I would like to find some plans online if possible. Does...
interesting... that would be about the cost of the metal flange I was looking at but much lighter probably. There is a PVC part that is already threaded and would screw into the metal flange, so no need to heat a PVC pipe.
Hmmmm that might work. Previously I had made myself some really quick upright stands, with a wood plaque and a thick dowel. I just used one screw up from the bottom of the base and through the dowel. It quickly became loose and would just spin. Still worked, but it didn't look great. I'm trying...
A quick trip to the Hardware store today revealed that I would need to use a metal flange to put the pipe into, not a plastic pvc one, only because they don't carry the plastic one. It would be ok, but makes the whole thing, much much heavier, especially considering I might be doing 2 or 3 of...
Thanks Melonpool! You know, I have been planning this all in my head without going down to the hardware store and actually looking at what was available. I didn't even consider that there would be a coupling which I could easily mount to the wood, thus giving the pipe something fitted to go...
I'm trying to figure out how to make a puppet stand that I can mount on the wall. I really like the idea of a PVC rod mounted to a simple wood plaque (available at craft stores) because I know it would be easy to shape the PVC at a 45 degree angle close to the wall. What I can't quite figure out...
This is actually related to the Whatnot I bought 2 years ago, but since the people who read this might be more construction savvy than the other sections of the forum I thought I'd ask here. Anyway, I bought a whatnot and got the glasses for his eyes. But I asked that they not attach the...
Does anyone here know who made these 2 puppets?

I bought them on ebay, (though I'm having some trouble getting them from the seller), but thought I'd see if it was any of the talented builders here who did them.
Yeah I used thin layers of magnetic tape. I applied the sticker to one sheet of magnet, cut the magnet to fit, and then put blank magnets in the places on the backstage where the posters should go. It works great.
You might check out the kids video section of your local library. Usually you can even look up their inventory online- this is especially helpful if you have multiple libraries in your area.
So I've been out of the loop for a while- I had previously purchased all of the individual Season box sets and am going to pick up the Season 4 set soon. I just want to know if there's anything in the Complete series set, bonus feature-wise, that I'm missing out on by having the seasons...
