Some of the instrumental music in Sesame street sounded
a lot like muzak (elevator music). Think, for example, of the
sound of "If Moon was Cookie". Was the music provided by
the Muzak company, or was there a band proper to the
show. In general, it might be interesting to discuss how
Sesame...
This is probably very obscure, but does anyone remember a
cartoon in which a little girl has lost her cat and a cat
appears on a truck, then among flowers (with flower eyes)
and maybe in other places, before the real cat (probably)
comes back? Or something like that? I think I saw this in...
A couple of months ago, I asked if the D song is on any
recordings and the answer seemed to be no. I mean the
song that has the weird animation and goes "Daddy
dear, oh, Daddy dear, do dogs have dreams, do ducks
have ears" and so on. Was it released on video? I've
just discovered a new...
Oh, I remember those all right. I thought Kermit looked
hideous with those false teeth, but I recall him as being
hilarious with the false ears and with the Groucho mask
(Grover was selling shades there, right?)
The plumber skit had them drinking the flood water with
straws. I wouldn't...
You know the song "D, d, d, d,"
"Daddy dear, oh Daddy dear,
Do dogs have dreams do ducks have ears."
and so on.
Was it ever released on any album?
I just listened to my old dear piece,
The Frogs in the Glen. Apparently, they
used an uillean bagpipe, though the frog
is playing a...
Segments with mutations, wigs falling off
peoples' heads and other "dismemberments",
I think. And anything with witches & other
real ferocious personalities/monsters.
I remember this, as well as the circus music,
very well. They drew the ringmaster very lithe,
bald and earless and yes, he had a big voice.
Interesting thing to share: the "three falling
felines" you mention flew into the air from a
cannon. They entered it and one of them lit
the fuse...
Erin, the I Can't Find My Way animation
is exactly the one I spoke about above,
did you get it? The landmarks are weird
enough (I remember that funny house with
the flower-shaped chimeney emitting a
cloud of smoke) but when the weird-looking
guy with the yo-yo turns into them with
his big...
Late in my history of viewing SS, I recall
getting right smack to the end of a cartoon
and seeing characters from the comic Beetle
Bailey. I saw almost nothing. I believe it
was narrated. Am I correct that "Beetle
Bailey" was on Sesame Street and what was
the cartoon about?
Does anyone remember the D song? I found
it the other day on the Sesame Street
Lyrics Archive. This was a very weird
song (some apparently have found it
spooky) or rather the animation that
went in it.
It starts basically so:
D! D! D! D!
Daddy dear, oh daddy dear,
Do dogs have...
Does anyone remember Kermit singing a
"Scottish Folk Song" where he says
"I am proud to be one of the frogs in
the glen" and this wee tam-wearing
froggie agrees with him? A "chorus"
is played on a bagpipe by a fat round
frog, but it sounds more like muzak
(I asked my dad why he had a...
This is a good topic - I had my fill of scary
Sesame Street scenes (watched it regularly from
about 3 to about 7. I'm closing in on 23 now.)
The pollution cartoons were not really scary,
just sad, and the ones where Kermit gets teeth
were also not really scary, but ugly rather (in
one...
Actually if I recall correctly (I must have been
about six when I saw it) Grover gets freaked
because the hills roll when someone else (Julie
Andrews?) sings the song. The skit may actually
have been called "The Sound of Music" and yes,
I may have found it spooky too.
