A statement by Sesame Workshop:
http://www.sesameworkshop.org/our-blog/2012/08/24/in-memoriam-jerry-nelson/
The cast and crew of Sesame Street and the staff of Sesame Workshop deeply mourn the loss of cast member and creator of dozens of Muppet characters, Jerry Nelson. A member of the...
I just read about Jerry's death on Jim Henson Company's facebook page. Jerry was a couple of months older than my grandfather (his birthday is the same day as Jim Henson and Steve Whitmire).
It's going to be hard for Matt Vogel to voice Jerry's Sesame Street characters (especially Count Von...
I'd like to see 'Of Muppets And Men', 'The Muppets - A Celebration Of 30 Years', and 'The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson'. I'd also like to see an unedited version of 'Muppet Family Christmas'.
I saw them at Lawton's Drugs discounted. They didn't have Rainbow Connection, which I thought was pretty. I like the pink/purple tones for myself. My niece likes sparkly nails.
I don't have a Blu-Ray player and don't plan to buy one until my DVD player dies (even then I'd get a DVD/Blu-Ray combo player). It'll be the single disc DVD for me since I already have the soundtrack on CD. It's just too bad that there wasn't more extras on the DVD, I can live with it.
Actually, I saw them at the Summerside, P.E.I. Wal-Mart the other day. I'm not sure which Valentines my niece is giving out to her friends, it'd be cool if she got the Muppet ones.
He died at such a young age, my uncle was born the same year as Richard.
I was 12 when Richard died and was in Grade 7. I don't even remember seeing his death mentioned in the entertainment section of the newspapers where I live.
If Richard was still living, I could see him doing more...
I saw the 'Flood' too and I loved it! It's just too bad that Steve didn't live closer to NYC so that he could be in more episodes (although he's busy with Kermit's appearances).
I think I read on Sesame Street's website that the 'Flood' episode is on this Thursday (December 29). I just happened to catch part of the street story on today's episode (was flipping channels).
It was on YouTube last year, but it got removed. I watched all of my Muppet Christmas specials on DVD this year - Muppet Christmas Carol, It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, and Letters To Santa.
My step-niece wished she could have gone to the movie, but she's been busy working that she didn't get a chance. I told her the DVD was coming out in March, so she's going to rent it. I'm buying the DVD for me and my niece to watch (I'm babysitting her in a few days, so we're going to watch...
Here's a link to the video:

I actually got to see the video even though I live in Canada.
Matt does quite well with Robin!
If Disney ever releases the uncut version on DVD, I'd buy it and watch it with my niece. I'm just getting my niece into muppets, she watches Fraggle Rock reruns and loves it.
Out of all of Richard Hunt's characters, Scooter is my favorite. I'm glad that they have someone talented like David Rudman performing him full-time. It was great seeing Scooter in the movie with other classic characters.
I just got the DVD a couple of weeks ago (I also have "It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie" on DVD that I got for $10 at Wal-Mart). It was interesting to hear Matt Vogel's version of Robin and Lew Zealand. Anyone else think that the Scooter puppet looked weird; it just looked stiff when...
Wow, I never thought we'd see Abby and Mumford in a scene together (they should do an episode together; both have magic powers and mess up sometimes). I'm still waiting to see Abby and Ernie share a scene together (she had a few scenes with Bert).
I haven't seen Elmo's Christmas Countdown (looked for it on YouTube). Elmo Saves Christmas was cute though (saw it on YouTube and they sang 'Keep Christmas With You'). I was just comparing the Christmas specials from 1978 since they were produced around the same time (the year before I was...
'A Special Sesame Street Christmas' was definitely the worst of the Sesame Street specials I've seen. 'Christmas Eve On Sesame Street' was the best one mainly because of more of the Sesame Street actors and muppets in it.
