Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

I just watched the new Arthur special, and I enjoyed it more than I thought. It's nice to see Alex and Emily get a lot of focus, and I liked how Samir was treated as a character who happened to be a Sikh, not the other way around (i.e., he never brought up his religion at all). And a big plus...

    RIP Norm MacDonald

He was a wicked Pokemon trainer, too. :D

The "What Commercial was that?!" Thread

It was a 2004 Visa commercial featuring the Washington Redskins Football Team Hogettes, a real group of football fans active from 1983 to 2012.

    RIP Dusty Hill

He was even Hank Hill's cousin! :D

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

That's the problem with grafting human facial features onto anthro faces, rather than trying to keep them consistent with the cartoonish Arthur style. I think the last ones to look genuinely appealing were the Car Talk guys back in season 7.

    RIP Jessica Walter

I wonder if she recorded any dialogue for the upcoming 12th season of Archer? I can't see the producers re-casting Malory like they did with Woodhouse after the death of his VA, considering she's a main character. Though I can see them killing her off entirely like they eventually did with him.

    Dog City General Discussion

I really feel like Dog City used the blending of puppetry and animation concept much better than LMM. Mainly because the two interacted with each other a lot more.

At least the parody version, Vance Legstrong, never juices. Right? :D

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

Here's the Thanksgiving special, officially viewable for free on YT (for now). This is disappointing to me, if only because the writers felt the need to make it a Pal-centric special, rehashing the premise of the season 1 episode where Pal gets lost, only now he talks. Would have been really...

Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Has Officially Been Canceled :(

Very, very disheartening and infuriating seeing as this show won all sorts of critical acclaim, and that NF allows certain other forms of content on their platform (not naming which for fear of this getting deleted, but you probably know what I'm getting at). Hopefully JHC strikes a deal with...

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

When Mr. Manino actually does retire or pass away, Rafi would be the most likely candidate for the Sugar Bowl's new manager and owner. Then again, he might already have since Mr. Manino was never heard of again since season 15's "Through the Looking Glasses", and Rafi just showed up the...

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

I watched the gay rat wedding, and it was an alright episode. Didn't like how they spit in the face of continuity yet again with Arthur still baffled that teachers have normal lives outside the classroom, even though he stayed at his house way back in season 4. Plus the whole "lover actually...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

And no doubt they'll bend the knee to China, Russia, and the Middle East by changing her girlfriend into a cousin or something. Because as woke as big corporations like Disney are, they'll drop all that in a heartbeat just to chase a few extra bucks.

    Dealbreaker TV Characters

The Molinas aren't bad characters, if you ask me. Out of all of them, Vicita can certainly be a dealbreaker, but to me, it's more because she got too much screen time compared to her brother. And as for the Pal & Kate episodes, it's Nemo that's the real dealbreaker. Not only has he become a...

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

Another minor character I find interesting is Patty Jones in "The Last of Mary Moo Cow", the woman in who played Mary only to retire the role to start her true calling in life: being a boring financial news anchor. I like to think that Patty only saw Mary as mind-numbing schlock that paid the...

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

In "Grandma Thora Appreciation Day", Thora's line in the beginning about how she doesn't have cable but gets public television clear as a bell, followed by Arthur and D.W. groaning, sounds a lot like the writers making a biting-the-hand joke against PBS. It's a lot like The Simpsons and their...

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

In "D.W. Gets Lost", the one thing I missed watching as a kid are the All-In-One Mart PA announcements. For one, they sell books without vowels for half price. Fridge brilliance is that they'd actually be cheaper than regular books overall because they'd require less ink, leading to fewer pages...
