It was up against films like Back to the Future, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, and Pee-wee's Big Adventure. Though "Follow That Bird" was not some sort of toddler film and had some legitimately dark moments, I'm sure many just assumed it was something meant for a very young crowd and avoided it...

I think Yahooey is referring to this clip that went viral a few years back. He obviously didn't say it, but it can seem that way.

I mean, they're both blue, but that's about it.

RIP to Jim Henson, one of the greatest 20th century entertainers and visionaries. I always wonder how he would have used modern technology if he were around to continue working with film and TV.

Was it ever confirmed that they made an episode with him? The articles I find say they just wanted him to be on it.

Nice to meet you, Count. Great profile photo!

Honestly, I had no clue there was an online fandom devoted to Thomas and Friends. And I really can't imagine why it would get so nightmarish, but I'll take your word on it.

Wow! That is incredible news. I have thought of this concept in my head for a long time. Just wish it were a real channel on broadcast TV.

Yes, Jim Henson created the series to promote the dangerous communist message of world peace.

I'm mainly confused by this. I have truly never heard of anyone who refuses to watch a Sesame skit with Jim Henson performing because they're some sort of "Whitmire purist". It's such an easy out to say that something would have never happened if Jim were around. No one can truly know what he...

I don't think there's anyone out there that would prefer Whitmire's stuff to Henson. However, Whitmire was still the second-best at doing Henson's characters.

So glad this wasn't an April Fool's joke as that what's I expected when I saw this. Definitely interested to read this.

Wow, that's an awesome find, I've never seen this before! I've seen some Muppets Tonight promo content, but it's usually the Disney Channel stuff and a few TGIF ones.

Great find. Wondering if this aired before of after Jim's death on May 16 of that year.

Nice to meet you, how did you discover this site?

Yeah, I gave it a watch. It felt very underwhelming, almost like a regular episode with a "finale-like" montage tacked on at the end. I really enjoyed the show during the first 3 seasons though.

What did you think of the series finale?

I predict there will be a new Disney+ series announced that will be canceled after one season like the other ones.

Good question here. I guess they just didn't have a place for him, kinda like how Caroll Spinney worked primary with Sesame and rarely interacted with The Muppet Show.

This is another laughable "controversy" by people who claim to hate cancel culture but spend their time cancelling groups they don't like.
