"Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration" special to air November 9 on HBO and November 17 on PBS

They found that out through the Ice Bucket video; they thought my channel was someone on the inside apparently. I met with some folks for a day, got some free swag and that was pretty much the extent of it.

No, I never interned there, nor do I currently work there. I just talk to people who know stuff going on on all facets of Muppet-related-things.

"Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration" special to air November 9 on HBO and November 17 on PBS

It all depends on what materials the puppet is made from. Some last longer than others just by their nature, others can wear down from overuse, or how it's stored, etc. For example, Grizzy from EIG was revealed a couple of months ago to be deteriorating despite not being used in like 20 years...

"Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration" special to air November 9 on HBO and November 17 on PBS

Whatever classic characters crop up in this are going to be ones that can easily be assembled from AMs and such. Repairing Barkley is a tall order and it's probably not gonna happen.

"Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration" special to air November 9 on HBO and November 17 on PBS

I believe the "missing street sign" thing won't like dominate the hour, it'll be just a plotline they go back to and celebrity stuff happens in-between. I have been told hat Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the host though (kinda like Cosby was, but in a less "Sesame Street is a TV show" kinda way). I...

    50th Anniversary DVD announced

They do that so they don't have to make a new one saying it's out now.

Am I the only one who hates what they've done to the Fozzie puppet?

It's mainly an alternate one, but yeah, I don't like it either.

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

Technically, the New Mexico ones were the same season as Buffy's debut, so it was just a nice bit of foreshadowing. #1045 was the season before the Hawaii saga, so it may also have been foreshadowing, but it would be a few months before they probably decided to actually do it.

What episode had the last "classic" animated segment ever aired on Sesame Street?

I believe the last time something from the 1970s was used was that "Bernice Plays Checkers" bit used in season 38.
