Well, I've heard that he can't use the monitor inside the puppet when they are not on-set. I would assume that most of his work in those two movies was done on a movie set and not on-location, whereas the other specials where he did wear a tie relied on the locations Big Bird was visiting.

Yeah, it really was. It was offbeat and hilarious at times, and really emotional at others. Definitely worth seeing. :)

Really? I can't imagine anything that the Muppets do not being at least one viewing. Otherwise, how will you know? I'm willing to bet that most of the people on this board who say they are not going to watch this will probably watch it, if only to confirm what they already thought and give...

I'm pretty sure you can still get that book. It's one of those perennial Sesame Street Little Golden Books that stays in print. My mom got me a copy at the Sesame Street General Store about 10 years ago, and I've seen them in stores since.

I've never gotten "too old" for it, especially as far as my parents are concerned. I'm 26 and wearing a Bert shirt that my mom just gave me (early) for my birthday. I remember when kids (7 or 8) would tease people for still liking Sesame Street, though.

Grover and the Museum of Everything was a really cool book. Grover was your guide through this museum, and it had some really crazy stuff in it. The only thing I really remember was that Grover kept wanting to see "everything else." At the end of the book, the museum had a sign saying...

I'm with you there, Erin. It's interesting, though, to be in grad school for literature, because there are so many people with an academic interest in other forms of literature besides high-canonical works. There are always some popular fiction and children's fiction classes and conferences...

I remember I had a picture book of that skit when I was younger, and they took the whole concept to an extreme in the book version. I remember it involved a Kangaroo and some other wacky stuff that wasn't in the skit on TV.
