On Enterprise, T'Pol is the science officer and first officer, much like Spock on the original show. As for TNG, I think Data was the science officer. He was also third in command after Riker.

I know, it's simply brilliant. Really nice character work throughout. It's up there in my top few as well, along with "All Good Things" (the finale) and "Parallels" (the one where Worf jumps between quantum realities--I have a real soft spot for that kind of story).

As for me, I'm mostly bugged by the fact that Elmo and Cookie Monster have eyebrows that infringe on part of their eye space. Wasn't there a better way to do this? Oh, and I also disapprove of the picture in general...

Funny--I just randomly picked to watch the Steve Martin one last night. I forgot how funny that was! I really liked the live laughter from the Muppets and performers.

I read a few of Lloyd Alexander's books, and really liked them. Another author I followed at that age was William Sleator, who wrote a lot of really cool science-fiction for younger people. Great stuff, really! I started with "Interstellar Pig," and I would highly recommend that to anyone.

I'm really looking forward to this special as well. Here's hoping that they use some nice rare older clips to satisfy the nostalgia of folks like us... :)
