That sounds familiar--a Simpsons quote? Sorry I still haven't posted my whole experience--we've been busy all day (new puppy). In a strange twist, I may have another shot at auditioning in the near future... There seems to be a "regional audition" here in Iowa City, though I have no idea...

I really like this figure, and I appreciate the use of the Jim Henson muppet character as the inspiration. It sort of blends fact with fantasy in a nice way. More like a tribute than a recreation. I tend to agree that a human-looking figure might be a bit creepy...

I like it too. I'll have a lot of Chefs by then, but I may have to pick it up because it's so neat and unique!

Well, I'm back here in Iowa now... Thanks for the support, you guys. The short version is that I didn't make it, but I had a good time. I'll post the long version sometime soon--I'm kinda wiped out from driving all day (600 miles each way). It was a really interesting experience. :)

Mmm, Toy Story 2--amazing amazing movie. For me, it helps that the kid's name is Andy. When it came out, there was a pack of little PVC figures called "Andy's Favorite Toys." :)

The third BTTF movie is really a lot of fun as well. In some ways I like it better than the second, though that's good as well. If I remember correctly, though, Robert Zemeckis said that they had no idea they'd be able to make sequels, and that the part at the end of the first where they blast...

I heard this a long time ago too, but when I heard it I think it was a fan discussion on the Muppet newsgroup (this was back in '97 or so). Maybe there was some truth in it? If so, that would be a very very cool project.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go for it. It's a long drive, and I've read that it's a long process to get from the initial audition to the actual judges (we're talkin' days), but I'll kick myself if I don't do it. So, I'm probably gonna audition.

Actually, I already did make a better version, but it's being kept back by the studios. Why won't they let me accomplish my dream? ;)

Finally, a title for the movie I'm most looking forward to seeing next year. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith I like it!

I really like the newsman's mini set. That's all he really needs, so it's nice to just have a desk and a little backdrop.
