Well This is a New One...

Breaking glass period is unsafe. Hah. But yeah, saying that about walking under a ladder is like saying that about looking both ways to cross the street. There's a difference between being superstitious, and being safe. besides, as Brain from Arthur pointed out, it's easier to walk around...

Jerry Nelson the "Mel Blanc" of the muppets?

The one thing he cannot do any more? I guess it would be those really really high pitched voices. In fact, didn't they have to pitch Robin's voice up for VMX? It's a shame tyhat with age diminishes a lot of his range. I mean, He can do voices like Rocky the Rocking Cry baby (loud, ear...

Well This is a New One...

You know what I find funny? Why is walking under a ladder considered a "superstition"? Isn't it common sense that it is dangerous to do so, especially if it is unstable, and someone is climbing it? I mean, large, unstable heavy object is pretty much a red flag anyway.

    Arthur.....LIVE!

Honestly, you'd expect better out of a bunch of people in walk around costumes dancing and miming to a prerecorded soundtrack. ;) But it can't be any worse than the actually live performance of Arthur I saw years ago at the Boston Children's Museum. Basically, it was just 2 women playing...

    Changes that you actually liked

Rewatching Old School vol 1 and starting vol 2, I remembered some other things I like not being around anymore. Sketch Repetition- In the older episodes, a skit was shown 2 times (or more!) in an episode. Now, I know that it's supposed to mimick seeing the same commercial for the same...

So what did everybody think of the movies of 2007?

Well, someone didn't do too well in Math class. As Zero doesn't have a value, it cannot be negative, nor can it be positive. As adding zero, or taking it away from something does not add to or decrease the value. So if you gave it negative Zero stars it would be quite the same as...

    New movies coming out...

That was the only thing that made me want to go see that. Considering I'd rather see Walk Hard or even the Chipmunks, I'm going to have to miss out on the Goofy short. Originally it was to have been in front of Enchanted, but Disney had other plans. Gah! No wonder why animated shorts in...

Old School skits and other questions thread:

I think it would be a good idea to have a scond thread about the old school DVD's, just about questions reguarding various segments and skits. One seppearte from the "your thoughts" thread, so it doesn't get bogged down by questions, instead of reviews. As a result, I'd like to start it off...

    Fave SST Songs

That's a tough one. there are way too many great songs in the history of the show. You can't deny classics like Rubber Duckie, ABCDEFGHI, C is for Cookie, and the classic theme song. But even still, I tend to gravitate towards the parody songs (Being a huge Weird Al Yankovic fan and all)...

Sesame Street Old School DVD's: Not For Kids

Well, to me, if anything... you know how they said what they said about Don Music and Roosevelt Franklin? That and the fact that the Joe Raposo song about touching stuff (the Petting Zoo film) could be taken wildly out of context by some idiot (ala I want a Monster to be my Friend) is the only...

could Herry have initially been intended to be generic?

Indeed he could have. After all, 90% of monsters on Sesame Street, Elmo included, started off as Generic. Cookie Monster, Grover (grey green at this point), and yes, even Herry all started out as a random Monster. I'm pretty suspicious of the Up and Down segment, since Jim Henson voiced the...

Arthur Finally Gets a Season Set on DVD!

I guess they're just testing the waters. I find it pretty odd they don't start with season one (even in volumes, since season one had quite a few episodes-could be a reason why, BTW). But at least it's an improvement over paying 15 bucks for an episode and a half, like previous releases. My...

Well This is a New One...

You know, what the heck is the bother of a Christmas tree if you buy it 3 days before Thanksgiving, and by the time it actually is Christmas, it's brown and falling apart? My mother also keeps the tree up until after ephiphany. Sometimes a week later...Narf... Mainly because she never buys...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Old School Volume 2

I was watching the DVD too (I only got through one episode, since I'm pacing myself, and don't want to watch the entire thing at once), and I also noticed that a few skits were the more modern counterparts. but then again, this isn't new. The last box set had the "sweetened" version of the...

"The N" goes 24/7 Next Year

Yeah, but poo sounds a little less sophisticated, and more like the words out of a 2 year old. It's more comedic that way.

    The Chipmunks' Triumphant Return

Then again, Fat Albert Merchandise (including DVd's and a not too popular line of vynal figures) held off until well after the film premired. Considering they made a refference to them being on DVD in the film, it took them long enough. But with various others, the merchandise co-incides...

The Insult is TOO Great! (PLEASE don't edit this title)

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Personally, I don't care if they remake Jeannie. I remembered watching it back to back with Bewitched a couple years back, and all I could say was how inferior it was to Bewitched. I've since lost my like of Jeannie. Except for the episode with Paul...

    Why? ! WHY? !

The only merit to digital projection is 3-D films, like Nightmare Beofre Christmas. I agree with the rest of it, though. I do not wish to see any films "digital." The stupid thing here is that it is supposed to be far cheaper, but then again, you have to pay a digital projection surcharge at...

    Scooter's Computer

I'd guess it was a Generico 5000 or something. As I stated in another thread, I wonder... is it a real computer or a toy? It has cables ccoming out the back of it in certain episodes, and indeed it functions like a computer. Not to mention the fact the Babies supposedly cannot read, yet...
