Please Bring Back (fill in the blank)

You know what I think really needs to be brought back? Muppet illustraited storybooks. The kind with the big, whimsical paintings on each page. Not like those 1996 (post MT) easy reader type books like this one or this one... I mean the old time "Two for the Show" and "Case of the Missing...

Why did MFS and EIG bomb so bad?

I also say that MFS is a much more entertaining film than MCC.... I think MCC is a great film, and I think it's very high quality writing... but, by now, you know what I think... the Muppets feel like guest stars in their own movie... To that effect, here are some GOOD points about MFS...

    "The" Cookie Monster?

It is my observation that "Arnold" was the name given to a pre-SS Cookie Monster like character to be used to sell potato chips. I'm guessing it's the same green fanged Cookie Monster from the Ed Sullivan show. So on a technicality it may not have even been that character.

Has Big Bird lost his appeal?

Heh... I guess you're right. It must be one of those things that seems like no big deal when you're younger... but the older you get it actually DOES become a big deal. But then again, we have a willing puppeteer to continue the role as well, Matt Vogel, so if it does get too hard for Carol...

Why did MFS and EIG bomb so bad?

Oz is much worse. Much, much worse, I fell... and here's why: The film basically grasped at straws, demographically speaking. It didn't know if it wanted to appeal at kids, 20 somethings who like "adult" jokes, or tweenagers (hense the pop star as Dorothy). Ashanti. Sure, she's apparently...

    Anything Muppety From Comic Con?

Honestly... if there can be an Office-Con (and I love the Office), there can be a Muppetcon. problem is, we'd have to pull everything together ourselves, put a huge amount of capital into it, and the tickets could concievably cost a fortune... and that's even if we DON'T have special guests...

Why did MFS and EIG bomb so bad?

The director could have learned a thing or two from GMC. No matter how many smaller, more intimate moments between a small number of characters there was, you always remembered the Hotel was packed. I really think there could have been potential with as many muppets as possible watching the TV...

Question about Janice capture In the Muppet show?

Here's what I think happened.... Only Kermit, Gonzo and Fozzie were captured. The pigs told the rest of the cast they weren't getting paid that night, and they left.

Why did MFS and EIG bomb so bad?

You know what actually bugs me about MFS now that I look at it? I love how the opening of the film showed all the characters, the minor ones, the extra animals, every available muppet... all bouncing around in a cramped house, taking baths together in the toilet.... that was probably the best...

Please Bring Back (fill in the blank)

Exactly what I was saying. There are a lot of things I wanna see back, myself. First of all, I like how VMX gave us back the theater, and the next movie may just keep that going (with another theater, right? I keep forgetting). Secondly, I really like what the original concept of MFS had...

    "The" Cookie Monster?

Actually, I disagree for the same reason. He isn't THE Cookie Monster... he's from a long family of Monsters that are very ravenous when it comes to food, and "Cookie" is his name... I know there are a couple instances of people named Cookie (be it a nickname or otherwise)... I just can't think...

Please Bring Back (fill in the blank)

I never quite liked where these threads went. It basically turned into demands to see older characters that have yet to be recast officially. Which I think is what they want to get done. The characters come from the performer, and sometimes it takes a lot more than being able to sound like...

Why did MFS and EIG bomb so bad?

Dude... I TOTALLY need to know the name of that show! Honestly, I really feel he wanted to move the Muppets down for kids and focus on the grander creature shop projects. The proof is there with the Jim Henson Play-a-long Videos. Plus, there really weren't all that many Muppet projects...

Hopes for The Muppet Show Season 4

Possibly. But nothing to warrant a 2 year wait. I think whoever said the music rights were dealt with wasn't 100% accurate. Unless they're still working on certain ones. Really, music rights are the WORST. It protects companies from not getting huge payoffs from denture adhesive companies...

Has Big Bird lost his appeal?

I'd say it's more cumbersome than heavy... there are a lot of larger items that don't weigh that much, but are still hard to get a grip on because they're awkward to hold and carry.... I still think it has a lot to do with the writers and the lack of muppet skits.

    My contribution to fan art

Everyone's favorite comedian And no, I don't mean Jerry Seinfeld.

Has Big Bird lost his appeal?

That's possibly a reason. I guess that's why you see him perform Oscar on a more frequent basis... no large suit. But then again, Matt could perform the suit and Carol can just loop dialogue or something too. We can't rule that theory out, though.

Why did MFS and EIG bomb so bad?

That's the general problem. When you make a movie geared at preschoolers, that means you have to take preschoolers to the theater.... something I don't think any parent should do. And if they're that restless at home, on video, where it can be watched in parts and there are no distractions to...

Hopes for The Muppet Show Season 4

The only thing I blame Disney for is not working on music and guest rights en masse.... There's no call for it to be that big a pain in the neck. We really need to change these music rights laws.
