    Why isn't Skeeter a Muppet?

Skeeter was added to the cast to round out the female character quotient and also to add the almost stereotypical tom boy-ish athlete character that was quite the over used trope in the 1980's. I don't think it was Jim or Frank or whoever... it clearly had to go by Jim, and he allowed it...

Favorite non-Henson puppet shows growing up

That show came on JUST as I was getting out of High School. I remember vividly switching to the PBS channel during the commercial break of something for kids on another broadcast station in the middle of the afternoon (remember that? That was amazing) and saw some weird thing about a Potato...

Competition: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

Eh... I actually saw that one on television... it's basically an animated version of EVERY Adam Sandler movie EVER. I didn't hate it at all, I LOVED the animation... but it just was too deep in being an Adam Sandler movie to keep it from being anything else. I will say, even if I didn't hate...

    Here's your Walter Plush

There was a Phineas and Ferb build a Perry the Platypus inaction figure event about a year ago... I didn't even go in the store to get a flyer, they were at the mall's info desk. Shoulda grabbed a bunch. Hopefully I can go to the ONE mall that even has a Disney store and grab a flyer before then.

    Disney Store Muppet Merchandise Released

There's a Dug bean bag at Disney. Took almost a year for it to pop up. Just didn't get around to grabbing it yet. Makes me wonder, though. By the time this thing is released on DVD, there might be even more stuff. That's why the stakes are high that this movie becomes successful.

European McDonald's Muppet Show Happy Meal

I'd get a bigger kick out of it, had it not instantly make me think it was a new thread and Europe was getting a McDonalds The Muppets promotion.

Muppet Movie Clip: "Walter's Great Idea"

We're gonna wind up watching the entire movie piece by piece before it actually comes out, aren't we? :fishy:

Jason Segel to host SNL on 11/14

That's what I'm thinking. On the one hand, he's clearly on to promote the movie... but on the other hand, saying the Muppets will be a given may be just getting ahead of themselves. I have no doubt Muppets will be referenced to some extent, but I wouldn't know if any of them will join Jason...

Will Walter become the new Pepe?

This really is putting the horse before the cart, isn't it? All hypothetical... let's say the movie's so successful that there IS a TV show and future projects. I can't see him having a major role, but I can't see him shoved into the background either. I'd see him somewhere second or third...

Sesame Workshop Trying To Have It Both Ways(Bert/Ernie issue)

The funny thing is, I actually said it was tantamount to Blackface years ago and everyone thought I was mad. It was such a horrible show. I can take (even love) the shrillness of Cosmo in the fast paced pop culture heavy Fairly Oddparents, but when it came to the shrillness of Jack and...

New Regency Lands ‘Fraggle Rock’ Feature Rights Auction

It's such a waste just to have Red and Karen come out every time Archaia has a comic book to promote on Free Comics Day (and especially since we haven't seen volume 3 yet... didn't get the Halloween free issue) and ComiCon, but not to have viral videos of her just goofing off. I think it could...

Sesame Workshop Trying To Have It Both Ways(Bert/Ernie issue)

or a You know what I love about that show? One of the gay characters IS played by a gay actor, and the other isn't... the one that isn't is closer to the gay stereotype. Plus, the characters spent the first season trying hard NOT to be stereotypes, thinking everyone would be uptight about...

    Disney Store Muppet Merchandise Released

You know what's great about the Robots toys? You know they didn't do well for this reason... they weren't recalled. Made by Mattel, the smaller figures had small magnets in their feet that would later come unglued and the little swallow sized magnets would fall out. The Zoro One Piece figure...

Favorite non-Henson puppet shows growing up

Nah, but I did like that one... tried TOO hard to be Married with Children, though. It was a kid's show first of all. I can't believe I forgot to mention that. It seemed like it was just a given. I think the cat was either a D.J. or something... it was on Sunday Mornings before Beany and Cecil...

Favorite non-Henson puppet shows growing up

It was on Fox Kids and it wasn't Power Rangers. That's probably why. GRRR! I respect Power Rangers and their larger than you think fan base, but I ALWAYS hated the fact that they made it the only thing on the network. I mean, I LOVED stuff like Bobby's World, Eek The Cat, The Tick, Mad jack...

Favorite non-Henson puppet shows growing up

Unless I said it before in the thread, anyone remember Mr. Potatohead Show? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hy7FE2JBRGY That was the ONLY clip I could find. Too bad that show never caught on. There was like a VHS of episodes crushed together to make a movie, but I never found it. But a...

Competition: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

I just saw a certain cat based movie today (bargain Tuesday matinee and all), and I came to the conclusion that this year's holiday competition is MUCH stronger than the Summer competition. At least that time frame, everything was released in a manner so virtually everything had one great week...

    Disney Store Muppet Merchandise Released

Yeah, there was Monsters Vs. Aliens stuff, but they were TRU exclusive, and the movie had huge internet buzz, thus making sure that scalpers would buy them all up and charge a fortune on e-bay. One small figure set included the Steven Colbert voiced President and Bob. Luckily I manged to get...

Your Favorite TV Show: The Movie

I really hope it's true about the episodes coming back. The show was vastly underrated and Fox always screwed up the time slot. That Running Wilde show that the same cast members was in was kinda a disappointment, but it got canned JUST as the show was picking up momentum.

Your Favorite TV Show: The Movie

They ALWAYS announce that and they say "ooh, we're getting close." I'm not buying it until they start shooting. Seriously, that and Pushing Daisies, they're like... "Oh, we're gonna make a movie" and nothing happens, completely disappointing the fan base. I hate being Debbie Downer about...
