Parents Should Boycott The Toy Industry

Like I said... Mattel. They don't think kids should have any credit. No females in their toy lines, no matter how integral they are. Even the overpriced Hasbro Marvel figures are better than that. (Headdeask) THEY'RE THE SAME THING! Just, Target is trendier, and K-mart's more of a "give...

New Looney Tunes movie in development

Well... I'd chalk it up to the undeserved success of the boring Yogi Bear movie and the "Oh, well, at least Hank Azaria was funny" Smurfs film. But they did look into these sort of projects before that and nothing came of them. There was some absolutely dumb sounding film about Marvin the...

    Overrated Movies

Well, not fans of the show Seinfeld, I mean fans of his actual stand up. The movie played out like one of his routines about bees, but made into a longer story. The thing about Honey being in a Bear shaped Jar especially.

Another Stupid movie to Overreact to...

I'm wondering... Were the stupid little plastic wands part of the budget? That would explain a lot. I couldn't imagine how much they cost to make, but I'm sure en masse they cost more than the actual film did. And now they're going to end up in landfills like E.T. game carts... good going...

Parents Should Boycott The Toy Industry

Mattel still kinda sucks. They may have that high quality collectors DC line, but everything they do still kinda sucks. Hasbro's crap may be overpriced, but it's not even half as bad as Mattel. Still, I don't see why G.I. Joe sized figures go for so much. They get cleared out most of the...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

Yeah. I'm disappointed they had to put that in there (I bet that was Sony's doing to make it a PG movie), but I still want to see this film for ol' Genndy. Maybe if the film's a success, CN will get a freaking clue and renew Sym-Biotic Titan and try to woo him back. Or at LEAST let him have...

TV Alert: Sesame Street on Good Morning America September 19

Agreed. They lost someone close to them, but that doesn't mean they have to stop performing in mourning. They have a show to promote, and I'm sure Jerry would have rather seen them carry on performing than just take an overly long moment of silence.

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

It's a less sugar coated lie than HSM. If anything that's the one-ups-man-ship version of a ripoff. You know... like how The Voice is essentially a ripoff of American Idol but they added one other thing, and now they're just ripping off The Voice now. But I don't think this film is too much...

Another Stupid movie to Overreact to...

Probably second tier budget cinemas. But consider this... the movie was released about 3 weeks ago. For a film to disappear THAT fast, that is a feat in and of itself. Most films, even flops, at least get a full month in theaters.

    Popcorn Kermit

So, are these things at least tall enough to have a 25 buck price tag?

Did they ... uh... take over the first hour more than the second?

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

That's how it works. No matter what it is, when one thing becomes popular, everyone has to emulate it. And this is far from new. TMNT had pathetic ripoffs since it was a comic book. Not to mention how many Westerns they had in the 50's.\ Then Glee will fall out of relevance, and they'll need...

    Palisades-style Hanna-Barbera figures

They have a Prototype Rocko, as Rowlfy mentioned. There's just no picture of it to be found. He's clearly intended as a second series if these do well enough, along with the AAAAH Real Monsters characters. I hope we get to see Monster and Robot down the line. Monster would make a great plush...

The "What Seems to Be in Store for Season 43" Thread

I could go on a whole thing about EW vs ETM, but I think ETM speaks for itself so far. They really are looking at getting the older viewers back, and shifting away from the preprepreschool demographic that EW managed to catch. Hopefully, with that gone, the show is free to change in other ways...

Okay... enough of that: Sesame Street FINALLY posted some preview segments.

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

I don't see it being that popular a movie to worry about anyway. I'm sure Dredd and Hotel Transylvania will knock it down the ladder.

    Overrated Movies

I tend to think Madagascar is much less of an overrated franchise than Shrek. I like Shrek, but even I agree it's overrated. If anything else, Madagascar isn't as smugly full of itself as Shrek films are. There's something about the Madagascar films I can't quite grasp that I freaking love...

    Arthur: The Classics

If there's one thing I think Family Guy did better than the Simpsons is that it actually aged the characters and showed Chris getting promoted to High School. How many summer vacations can Bart and Arthur have before going back to the same class? I mean, even make it so Ratburn is promoted to...

It would be cool if he had an interchangeable hat, so you could put his aviation helmet on from Dasdardly and Muttley in their Flying Machines.

Parents Should Boycott The Toy Industry

Parents not buying toys is kinda the problem. The Toy industry may be screwing around and hiking prices up (and it also has something to do with the retail industry in general). But like I said, it was an annoying cycling growth over the past several years. Everything keeps going up in price...
