Also, even Sesame Street specials didn't out right show Santa. I don't know about the newer ones but Christmas Eve on Sesame Street didn't show Santa, it alluded to him. That's how it should be done. While this special does look well done and has the muppets in full form, I don't like that...
Exactly. They were adults that happened to be puppets. Of course since santa actually exists in this special I suppose it makes sense for them to believe in him, but wouldn't it have been better if they didn't believe and then found he was real? At least then they could still be adults...
In what production did the muppets meet santa? And I'm not talking about realism here.
If you are talking about the clip from the NBC special then i already mentioned it as what I am worried about and that I hope it is kept to a minimum. And frankly there is a difference between a talking...
Well one thing about the clips that worries me is the part with Santa. I hope it is minimized. I'd rather have seen them do a wink and a nod that Santa is real instead of the muppets flat out meeting him. In Muppet Family christmas they did that and I thought it worked much better.
Does it bug anyone else that there seem to be two very different Fozzie puppets in this production? There is the one with the more pear shaped head and floppy ears and the newer one, that I prefer, that has ears that stand on their own and more of a taller head. Really throws off continuity...
oh I thought you were talking about the kit shown in the video. That is rather odd that they expect people to take the kit to FAO. If they could get there they wouldn't need to kit. And why make people pay 40 dollars so they can wait until Feb. 2009? Why not just wait without paying the...
That was actually pretty good. I like Pepe commenting on the absurdity of the post office being like that. Gonzo jumping on the conveyor belt was classic as well. It reminded me of GMC where he got his nose stuck and tells Fozzie he's got to try it. The werido is weird again. Bloomberg's...
David sounded nothing like Scooter on DC studio live. Ricky was far better and should continue. Brian was good as well. David's Scooter just sounded like every other character he does.
That seems odd to me since David Rudman doesn't perform any other muppet show characters, at least none I know of. I suppose he could perform a decent Sal. Seems like a character he could do, if Sal is even around anymore.
I don;t really see how you can see this as a pattern for performers characters since 2 spots are taken by Frank. I see it more as a pattern of main characters. So I would expect Gonzo or maybe Animal.
That was the point I was making to you. Obviously the voices sound like they have changed. What's important is the characterization which, at least with Fozzie, is spot on making it much easier to accept.
Wow, they actually look as good as the promo pics. I was worried how eye placement would be based on the site, but they seem to have good eye focus. How is the size? How do they feel when performing? They still seem a bit small, in the mouth.
I really need one.
Muppet Show extras are Whatnots and Sesame Street extras are Anything Muppets. Same concept, different names and in some cases styles. If you compare Anything muppets to the older Whatnot designs you'll notice the Anythings are simpler. Scooter is an example of an old Whatnot design. To me...
It sounded like it was a lot of improv to me. Bill usually improves his characters as dumb. Look at his top 3. Pepe, Bob, and Jonny. All dull witted. pepe is the brightest of the bunch, but he usually comes off as dumb, usually through a misunderstanding. Not to say he isn't funny, but...
