When the Disney Store first opened, CEO Michael Eisner billed them as an outlet to promote the movies and theme parks.
The current plan (According to an article in the March 2000 edition of the Wall Street Journal): Transform some locations into a Disney home store for little kids (Selling...
<B>and a return to the innocence and splendor we felt growing up. That is it. The message of the Muppet Movie, combined with all the ingredients to get back to where we bagn...a return to joy, innocence, wonder and splendor</B>
Wouldn't we all; I know I would. I long for the days of my youth...
<B>"We are committed to continuing the legacy of creativity, humor and humanity that marked everything Jim Henson touched," Valentine said in a statement. "At the same time we feel there is enormous potential for growth, not merely from Kermit and the Muppets, but from the expansion of the...
<B>To my knowlege there are over 60 episodes of Spongebob out there. That's pretty good for a relatively new cable cartoon show</B>
I hope this isn't a sign that SPONGEBOB is morphing into RUGRATS. Although, it was never a "great" show, it used to be fairly enteraining for "all" kids, both...
SPONGEBOB is my second fav NickToon still currently on (The first is HEY ARNOLD, hands down!).
I just love cartoons, no matter how juvenile they are (Hey ... I still find ARTHUR to be a good show, okay? :) ). The animation is probably the only thing that'll turn me off of a cartoon. I am not...
<B>Emperor's New Groove? Didn't like it. Cute, but not worthy of Disney</B>
ENG was a very good comedy with a nod to more of the "classic" Disney cartoons.
:)
This one beats all the others, in my opinion. I love it!
Elmo & Robin are sooooooooooooo cute :)
Who is that green muppet (In between the fraggles)? Is he from TMS?
Just a suggestion for one of next years main menus: How about a MUPPET BABIES theme?
I know. Therefore, I don't know if I'd call them "sequels," per say. They belong more in the WDTA video series. The same "could" also be said for BUZZ LIGHTYEAR
There was? I never knew that.
As for HERCULES: ZERO TO HERO ... well ... I like the HERCULES TV series ... so there :)
And I haven't seen TARZAN & JANE yet. I do admit to liking the TARZAN television series, though (I know... But to me, the series is kinda like a mixture between TAILSPIN...
True; I actually do enjoy about half of their sequels but do see the amount of sequels in production as "out of control. While 101 DAL & "possibly" JUNGLE BOOK might have room for a continuing story, both MULAN & DUMBO don't.
As for LADY & THE TRAMP, the sequel was like making a long movie...
Here's a random question for y'all: Who is your favorite human cast member on SS?
Mine would have to be Bob. Even while growing up, he was my favorite. Just his very soft-spoken voice & easy going personality. His voice actually reminds me of one of my former special ed teachers; I think...
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A52642-2002Dec13.html
A very interesting article, I thought ... Especially the quote about today's kids being raised on Viacom instead of Disney.
It makes one wonder, though: TP is a flop. So was DINOSAUR, ATLANTIS & ENG. So ... With all...
And The animation for JTBW looks terrible! At least WDTA uses pretty decent stuff for most of their flicks.
I truly think that most Disney animators have a sense of proud company tradition; a tradition that dates back to SNOW WHITE. Without it, I doubt we would have much, if any, hand drawn...
I am in search of
-- MUPPET MAGAZINE. Preferably the complete set, but I'll take what I can get!
With all the talk of how great this mag was, I, being a huge Henson fan & all, want to see for myself!
-- Any Sesame Street Live program books from the '80's (I know these are hard to come by...
<B>f only he hadn't gotten into a shouting match with Jeffrey Katzenburg, than he might have had a good shot at succeeding Eisner. </B>
OK, that is a very incorrect sentence! Hope u got the jist of what I meant, though.
Unfortunately, these sequels (Half of which I "embarrasingly" admit to liking) have brought in over $1 Billion for Eisner. So, there 'ya go: It's "all" about little gren pieces of paper...
At least they canned the already planned TREASURE PLANET sequel...
When Eisner was at Paramount, he...
