    Dire Straights!

Kermit/Beaker Puppets Just wanted to share a little bit of info with you guys... Beaker is not made from scott foam or soft foam, he's made from an extremely strong cardboard tube, if I remeber correctly this fits into a slighty larger tube and allows him to slide his head up and down.. He then...

I happen to see them in person at the Muppet Workshop.

    Pod People

I'm curious if there are still some puppets from the Dark Crystal on exhibit at MGM studios, or does any one have some information on where there may be some Podling puppets I can view for research. I know of two Podling puppets that were given away, and I got a pretty good look at them but...

    Contact cement

Barge Glue And Puppet Building Here is a little bit of extra information on barging and joing two pieces of soft foam or scott foam together. Less is better, you don't need to brush this stuff on at all... A wood stick or a 1 inch square piece of foam are the best things to use. Using the...

    Jim Henson props

Rare Muppet Props For the most part the really great Muppet props are owned by past Muppet employees. The Piggy head that I believe went for around $900 is the first time I've seen a flocked head. Although it is still an unfinished Piggy head it is worth a bit more due to the fact that it is...

    The non-shiny fleece

Antron Fleece There's been a lot of talk about antron fleece, and its shinny quality. When Muppets started they used whatever fleece was available at the time. For the most part I'd say that a fleece known as hardwick fleece, which has a matte look (no shine) was used in the begining. The...

What Happened To The Swinetreck Model???

Swinetreck Model It hurts to think that you may be right Scarecroe. Most of that stuff did go into the dumpsters at the end of production, but there's always stories on how somethings were saved. For the longest time people had thought that the Muppet Show sign was gone forever. Well not...

What Happened To The Swinetreck Model???

Just curious if there's anyone out there in the Muppet world that knows what happened to the two and a half foot model of the Swinetreck used in the Muppet Show. I know it's not the one hanging from the ceiling of the Muppet 3D ride down in Orlando, so what happened to the original? :)

    Muppet Workshop in NY

MUPPET WORKSHOP NY The five story Muppet Workshop that was located just a few blocks from the Muppet Townhouse is gone and now part of Muppet history. What's left of the once great shop has been split up between the L.A. workshop and N.Y. workshop. The New York workshop had been in...

What Happened to The Muppet Puppets etc?

THE LIFE OF A MUPPET :) I find it so interesting that all you Muppet fans want to know what happens to all of the puppets. Let me start off by letting you know that for the most part any of the principal characters last between 10-15 years, that's with the exception of Kermit, Piggy ( who get...

    Fraggle Reunion

FRAGGLE ROCK PUPPETS/PATTERNS :) First of all let me start off by letting you all know that the patterns to all the Fraggles are in a safe place. The problem with most of the puppets that were built for Fraggle Rock are that they are twenty years old. Most of them need to be completely...

    Still looks like foam.....

SOFT FOAM HEADS AND PUPPET BODIES Here are all the answeres to your questions. First of all I really don't recommend using any type of spray paint on soft foam. If you've done this you probably know that it makes the foam hard and brittle not to mention it hurts the life of the foam over all...

Stop the Pilling of Antron Fleece

eing processpilling during the dy Unfortunetly this does happen sometimes when you dye antron fleece, but it really has more to do with the quality of the fleece that makes it pill up. Shaving will work, but you have to be very careful. I don't recomend it because you might take it to close...

To build? Or not to build? That is the question.

Gonzo Robin, Sadly, most Muppet fans probably wouldn't be able to afford an exact replica of any Muppet character. When I mean exact, I'm talkin about like when you buy one of those Starwars X-Wings or Tie Fighters that were put out by Icon Replicas. If we were to take Gonzo for...

To build? Or not to build? That is the question.

Gonzo Curious about what you think perfection might cost you. I know just the right person for the job. The puppet would be spot on in likeness. From his half wacky stack eyes to the exact fur and color. Believe me when I say that he would be exact... Although the price range would be the...

    Foam Cow Puppets..?

cow puppets All Muppet Show and Sesame Street cows and horses are made from 3/4 soft sheet foam that is patterened to create the puppet. There average size is about a yard long from head to end. They are usually flocked, but some have been coverd in fleece or a fur called bunny fur.

    Purchasing a Muppet-Style Puppet

Puppet weight Not sure about that because I've nevered weighed one. I would say there is a great range in weight, but your average hand puppet couldn't weigh more than somewhere between 1-5 pounds, but I'm guessing. Most likely they weigh very little if they're not in a heavy costume. To...

What's your most prized Muppet item?

Tygerbug Someone else posted that they had a Muppet Style Book, it wasn't me. Although I am familair with the book and was curious how it was obtained. It's extremely rare and I'm pretty sure that there probably aren't too many who have an original copy of it.
