    Ernie's Rubber Duckie

I was just thinking of putting a silly post; I wonder how many songs Ernie did that had either a direct or subtle reference to his rubber duckie? I can only think of a few: There's Honker, duckie, dinger jamboree Rubber Duckie Dance Myself to Sleep. Are there any more?:p

    What happened to Shurlock Hemlock?

Anyone out there knows why his character was retired? I enjoyed his sketches as a kid, and his song "X marks the spot" was one of my favorites. Was this character controversial in some way that I don't know about or probably he didn't appeal to kids? Egad! Seems we have a mystery here.;)

    Pointer Sisters Performances

Although these are some of my earliest recollections of Sesame Street, I could remember the Pointer Sisters in HUGE afros, fully dressed in typical 70's styles singing about the alphabet. I remember the last the words to that song were: " A-B-C...and X-Y-Z...(and the sister with the deepest...

    Anything Muppet Opera

Anyone remember the Opera featuring 5 Anything Muppets? It taught us kids back then to count to 5. Part of it went something like:" You and you and you and me make 4..." I remember Jim Henson's voice in there and a very good female opera singer as well. Anyone remember knows this one?

Names of singers on these animated skits

I remember 2 animated clips that had some very good vocals on the background music; One featured a very short clip with 2 crows singing about being alive- the 2 crows sang about "a stone on the street, they don't need to eat, they don't breathe, they don't grow, they don't learn, they don't know...

Very animated early clip about the Zoo

This has to be my earliest memory on Sesame Street; If I recall well, this animated clip featured certain animals in a zoo and it had an acapella song that carried the tune of "The 12 days of Christmas." It went something like "At the first cage at the zoo, this is what you see- 1 elephant...

    Animated Tree clip

I recently remembered an early 1970's animated clip about a man cutting down trees. The male narrator's voice went like a rhyme accompanied with country type music- anyway, the man chopped many trees until he came across this huge tree which he couldn't cut down at all. It turned out this tree...

    Adventure skit

I mentioned this animated clip to a couple of my buddies but no one seems to remember it. This clip dealt with the word "Adventure", there was a bold male voice over saying the word Adventure and there was a guy swinging on vines in the jungle, rescuing a lady in distress, swimming away from an...
