Thanks Erine81981! I collect all the 70's hand puppets from Child Guidance and Vicma (among other things!), and finding Herry was always at the top of my list. When I finally found him, I felt like Sir Galahad discovering the Holy Grail! So I found a painting of the good knight and...well, you...
OK, now I'm hearing it's been delayed again. Both the Best Buy I stopped at this morning and the Suncoast I called afterward went to their computers and said the date's been moved another two weeks.
Does anyone have any news? (Or has anyone found one?) Amazon is saying it ships in two to...
I've been checking...they just got to our Hot Topic, and the rest of the new merchandise has come to Suncoast (fortunately both are right across from each other). In fact, most everything seems to have just hit, including the new Simpsons stuff as well. So check (or call) as much as you can...
Hi,
I'm sorry to ask this, but I can't find it anywhere: What are the prerequisites for the various levels of membership (Junior Member, Member, etc.)? Is it length of membership, number of posts, or something else? I'm just curious as much as anything. Thanks!
Just picked up the Mayhem set at a Hot Topic in Jacksonville (when they see a 40-year-old in business attire at the checkout, they have to feel they're losing their edge). They're a little smaller and more claw-machine than I imagined (though the Nanco Fozzie I won a few weeks ago is one of the...
Frawley was a second-tier character actor in the 60's who appeared on many classic TV shows, perhaps most notably the two-part classic Outer Limits episode "The Inheritors."
Those of you in the UK may remember Matt Monro, a contemporary of Dusty Springfield and Shirley Bassey (who was on the show). When some of the British stars who were less familiar to American audiences started showing up, I always hoped Matt would be one of them. He was an outstanding guest, a...
There was a hand puppet released by Vicma, a Spanish toy company, in the 1970's. It's a great likeness, better than some of their others, except he has an orange nose. I guess they thought he wasn't colorful enough. Watch eBay and also look on European eBay and toy dealer sites.
Here's a link...
I guess my point was that in addition to the core characters the "secondary" choices seem repetitive. The Palisades Crazy Harry and Lew Zealand figures are awesome, for example, so who needs a bust? For the last 25 years I would have loved a 3-D Crazy Harry, but that need was satisfied by the...
The Jacksonville, Florida Target Supercenter now has the new Palisades figures, the big Beaker, and the Swedish Chef set. Plus all the new Simpsons stuff.
I was excited to find the new Kermit, but none of the three were painted well enough not to wait. There was paint spatter from the whites...
Harry looks really off. His pupils are too small, eyes too far apart, or something. Dr. Teeth is awesome except for the jug ears. I don't remember ever seeing his ears so prominent on the puppet. I agree that Piggy's hair color is not right, and her cheek bones (jowls?) are too pronounced...
The original Ernie and Bert had tufts of furry hair, while later ones had a kind of "permed" hair that wasn't nearly as nice. There also were Roosevelt Franklin and Salesman finger puppets, and Herry and Count ones from the same line that are very rare (both have hands on their torsos like the...
Yes...they are great collectibles I remember from my childhood. Within the last year I found both intact on eBay and bought them for very little. My idea was to frame each page in its entirety, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. (Yes, Herry has his blue nose!) Keep on the lookout!

I just tore myself away from the new Lew Zealand figure. He may be the best figure I've ever seen, and that's saying something.
Usually with an articulated figure I end up leaving them "standing still," as any other pose doesn't really match the static facial expression you're stuck with...
They've gone back to the original Fozzie design from the 70's, and it looks pretty good to me except the sides of the head should taper inward down toward the mouth area. Now it's a straight diagonal line like the newer Fozzie.
Thanks guys...I appreciate the good wishes. Pepe is tops with someone I work with; in fact, I've been looking for a Pepe "something" for her for years now. Glad to see a figure is coming down the line.
I never got into "Muppets Tonight" but was aware of it. Reading all the posts by folks who...
