If it's the best animated film since Frozen, all that's really saying is that it's better than Mr. Peabody and Sherman and The LEGO Movie. Which, I don't know. I guess it could be. I opted to see Muppets over Peabody in my most recent theater trips! ;)
I doubt it's better than The LEGO...
It's worth noting that the kinds of positions you have to put your hand in to perform Kermit feel much less awkward when you've got the puppet on your hand than when you're just trying to do them on their own. Arcing your fingers and such isn't that bad when you've got the fleece and mouth...

Winners announced! I am a big fan of the winning design! Nice to see Sam take home the top prize! :attitude:
It's a shame they couldn't have printed more of the entries, but at least they picked three good ones!
Wow, he really looks fantastic! One of the best looking Kermit replicas I've seen, honestly! His overall likeness definitely "feels" like Kermit, and that's hard to get right! Great job!
Not sure if this has been pointed out elsewhere, but it seems just obscure enough that it could get overlooked. Miss Piggy and the Swedish Chef made a guest appearance on the YouTube cooking show "Nerdy Nummies," wherein they create cookies in the shape of the Muppets "M" logo. Pretty...
Gonzo bothers me, not so much because the current puppet is really that bad, but just because I really felt like they had him perfected before. He looked so good in pretty much everything from Muppet Treasure Island through Letters to Santa. I miss that design for him, but he still looks...
I found Kermit, Fozzie, and Gonzo in the FAO section of the local Toys R Us today. Fozzie looks pretty much just like the pic from the website. Gonzo actually looked a lot better in person than that picture makes him look. His eyes didn't look quite so...interesting. Kermit was kind of...
I figured I'd better alert the masses:

There's a new version of the Valentine Kermit that Kmart has sold the last couple of years. He looks decidedly better this year...
Just thought I'd pop in here for a little bit of shameless self-promotion. I'm proud to unveil Backstage Right, my entry in the contest!

Please rate it at the link above if you can spare a little time to help me out. I'd really...
It's about 8 inches tall without the helmet and closer to 10 with the helmet on. It does have an armature inside it that allows it to be posed, but I haven't gotten real brave about posing him other than moving the arms a little bit. No antennae under the helmet nor does he have any hair...
Well, folks, look who arrived today! This little guy (or gal, based on the helmet) in all her glory for those wondering what the Doozer prize would look like. Kind of surreal to get a real deal Doozer in the mail! She's pretty delicate, though, so I'm going to be going display case shopping...
Little bit of both, but mostly machine sewed. Obviously you can see the seams and it doesn't look quite as polished and professional and using the Henson stitch and whatnot, but the likeness of the character is good enough for me!
Jo-Ann Fabric mostly. It's nothing special. I don't use Antron fleece or anything like that. Just whatever I can find that seems like a good color match. Jo-Ann is also where I found a number of the materials I used to create the banjo.
That is indeed Mahna Mahna you spy back there! I didn't make the big WALL-E. He came from Disney Movie Rewards a while back, sans Jack Sparrow hat of course. You can find the instrumental version of Moving Right Along that I used for the video here...
