This is from Variety, via SciFi.com:
•The Lion King director Roger Allers and Brenda Chapman, who served as that film's story supervisor, will direct Tam Lin, loosely based on the Celtic folk ballad. Created by husband-and-wife artists Brian and Wendy Froud, the script will be written by Neil...
Great menu, Jamie! Maybe next year you can get the menu to regenerate when you hit Reload, but only with Jim characters. It'd be interesting to see just how many characters he's performed, and it'd be nice to get some odd ones like Nigel from S & V and Jen (sp?) from Dark Crystal. (Don't get me...
Wow. So Karen showed up at one book signing, Dave at another...does anyone know if someone else showed up for the LA book signing? Alas, I can't afford Carroll's book right now.
(We're getting close to post 300, folks. Just two more to go!)
It should be noted that if Big Bird has Matt's voice in a street scene (which to me is barely detectable anyway), it's most likely because Carroll is playing Oscar in the same scene.
I think Super Scooter was just implying that Tom Martin was a Muppet fan. In all the cases listed, though, the people had considerable previous writing experience. So it's not like they're about to pluck one of us out of obscurity with a "Standard Rich-and-Famous" contract. :(
I have no idea what any of it said, but it sure is fun to click on links when you have no idea what they lead you to.
Sprocken de deutch de "Mahna-Mahna"!
Since TMS episodes could be aired in any order across the country, there's no way for sure to know the original airdate for the Juliet Prowse ep. The date listed at Kermitage.com is Apr. 25, 1977.
As far as I know, Mahna does not actually appear in the Sandra Bullock episode; instead Kermit...
Umm, King Prawn: The Muppets already HAVE gone camping, in a 1983 John Denver special. :D
BTW, everyone, we need to stop posting this stuff. Secret Squirrel says in this thread that JHC won't use any ideas that have appeared on the web. Check it out...
That's what makes it so tricky. See, there's nothing else LIKE the Muppets. If you wanted to write for Sesame, I suppose you could write a Between the Lions...but what on earth would you write for regular Muppets? Simpsons is often used as a comparison point on this site, but I'm not sure that's...
I believe they don't accept any outside submissions, because if they ever end up doing anything remotely similar to your project, you could sue. Same with TV shows -- if you want to write for CSI, you don't send them a CSI script, or they won't even look at it for legal reasons. You send them a...
You're right that he wasn't in the movies much, Super Scooter. That's why I mentioned Muppets Tonight. He's a great "fill-in" character, so why they assign lines to generic Muppets when they could use a character that everyone loves...I don't get it.
Wiggy, your plot idea sounds cool. That's...
I thought the 84/85 incident was when Jim tried to buy Disney. Anyway, ironically, the first time I heard about Jim trying to buy Disney...was in a Jim Hill article. Not that I'm his biggest fan or anything, but I'll give credit where it's due. :)
Yeah, that's the funny thing about Brian. Everyone expected he'd sound just like his father. But in fact, he seems to take after the Nebel side of the family. I bet he sounds just like Jane's father at that age.
Brian flat-out said in a TV Guide interview that he didn't want to do Kermit...
Hear, hear, Jamie!
Luke, I totally hear what you're saying about the business side of things. It wouldn't be as easy as it once was, but I would hope something would be worked out. A big part of the TMS Live Show might be too much, but I think they should throw the puppeteers and their...
Sorry, Kev and Luke. I disagree that a Sesame presence at MF is that unlikely. It's like people saying that no more Sesame/TMS crossovers are possible now that EM.TV sold off the characters. But the Sesame sale came in early 2001, I believe, and Elmo appeared with them in MF later that year. The...
Actually, Rizzo leaves the balcony where Gonzo is, and goes down on stage where Kermit is. That's why Steve couldn't play Rizzo. Gonzo is no longer in the shot, which is why Dave filled in. If Gonzo and Kermit had both been in the same shot, they would have had someone else play Rizzo. :D
There was a TMTM exhibit in Central Park? How cool is that? Do give details, please!
I agree about TMS Live. I'd like to see an extended (about 15 minutes or so) entirely devoted to SS; probably a musical medley or something. They could also do a belated Fraggle Rock anniversary production...
Right. Let me make it clear I don't want a Sesame Fest. The anniversary celebration is more just to give it an even better reason for being in NY. But that would only be one part of the Fest, which would be mainly TMS character-centered. There should also be a segment focusing on all the Muppet...
