my puppet hasa plastic tube out of his arm for removable arm rods, and tried a good quality chopstick but its kinda tight do they still really thin drum sticks?

i mean my arm rods r made of steel and of course u cant them on the plane and what wuld be a good replacement and safe to use on at the airport and the plane
