I've been to busy to post lately but the thought of Brendan Frasier in that movie makes me want to gut myself with a make shift shiv. Personally I think it would be a much better idea if the characters were just fending for themselves rather than supporting the antics of some fading star. Bugs...
Hey luke,
i've not yet seen the dvd and have not seen the new stuff what is it. and is it really all that great. Yeah they work together these days, which weirds me out, but even still. Different or not they were Jim Henson's Muppets not Disneys, they didn't create them. And he DIED...
Again let me remind folks of what the good people at disney did around the original sale. If you recall a brochure ready "Disney's Muppets" was out for their arrival to the park. This is after Jim's Death and before a final sale. I'm sure they'll keep the name around huh?
Hey Kids, since we have so many varried opinions on the subject, I thought it would be fun to start a post for the Mouse Wars. I personally am quite anti Disney in regards to a Muppet sale and would looove to play devil's advocate to anything you can toss at me and I'm sure a few other's would...
I really think that Fox or Viacom could do some great things with them. Also for those Theme park crazy folks could have their Universal Studios to work with. You could guarantee we'd see Muppety rides if Viacom gets em.
Actually I thought the Book of Pooh was great. As far as the cartoon goes, I think they all but ruined the spirit of Milne's writings. They took everything that was smart about Pooh and stupified it. The original writings were just as much for adults as kids, and held messages in philosophy...
A Bluth film I really enjoyed was "Cat's Can't Dance". I believe that's the title. The character design is awesome, and the animation was great. I'm also a huge Randy Newman fan and he did a great job as well. Unfortunately animated movies without the Mouse Ears are seen as lesser product...
Nobody on this forum should think their opinions are wrong. they are opinions and that is impossible. For the same reason people should not think that they are being lashed out upon or told they are wrong, just disagreed with.
I agree, Pink Panther sure did get the wuss treatment.
So did...
So what's the difference between Disney's Doug and Nick's Doug. The characters are the same. The voices are the same. It's just as boring. The only difference is who owns it. There are a lot of products that people think are good because they have the mouse ears on them. Not to say your...
Here's a real responce and not just me and Luke playing post tennis.
I really feel Jim Hill is looking into things a little much on this. I actually agree with Luke. Goelz is a good man, and come on, he's got to work. Why can't these guys do freelance or outside work. We see Henson...
Luke,
My point was more to think about what you are writing. Have you done something similar. I can think of a few times wheere you or someone else has scewed the news with your own interpretation or opinion. Most recently with Brian stepping down. Again, I stated that I didn't really...
I hardly think I was harsh. More sarcastic. You're a smart young man surely you can handle it.
Yes I agree with the importance of longevity. And Disney sure did let that longevity shine with their support of Muppets Tonight on ABC, and their promptness of bring MCC and MTI to DVD...
Luke, isn't it you who has posted a lot of "conspiricy theories" yourself. Not only that but your buddies at Toughpigs aren't exactly A-1 writers of fact either. It's opinion, and though I also think it to be far fetched, lets watch for the hypocracy dude.
I don't know if you noticed Jamie but their recent products haven't been getting all that good of reviews either. That includes their movies, direct to video work, tv shows, toys...
yeah sounds like they'd be great for the muppets. Just because they can make a bunch of crap isn't a good...
Luke
Hold on a second while I get my foot out of my mouth...ah there we go. Anyway, now knowing you work in TV I see you have some experience in the area after all. I still don't think you have a handle on Brian's motivation though. I do think the sale does probably play a little part, but...
<<<Luke, you almost made me spit my coffee all over my laptop from laughing...although I should point out that it is probably Kermit's job to dangle a "sausage" in front of Miss Piggy's nose... >>>>
You were talking about an actual sausage right? Because I think II may get sick.
He's staying on as a producer on Farscape and is developing work for Henson pictures.>
<<Yeah Daniel - but if you read in between the lines, he is going from 100% work at the Henson Company to around 5%. 'Developing' means somewhere between pitching and pre-production - not exactly duties of...
If you read the news again, at no point does it say that Brain is leaving the company, he's just stepping down as CEO. This is so he can put his energy into the more creative side of things and let those who know business do business. He's staying on as a producer on Farscape and is developing...
