I've never really gotten into comic books, but I'm a big fan of Calvin and Hobbes, and recently, Pearls Before Swine. There was one called Citizen Dog that I used to like, too. My local newspaper stopped publishing it, though, and I don't know what happened to it.
Did anyone ever watch the...
Great job! That side-view comparison really shows off how good of a job you did with the new seams. I think the lighter green shows off the puppet's features better than the dark green, too.
I'm actually working on a T-Rex puppet right now, too. I'm going to put up some posts once he's a bit...
I'm happy people are mentioning "Perfect Strangers". It's a show that for years I've been saying "what was that show with the foreign cousin who came to live with the curly-haired American guy", and that was totally it. I loved it when I was a little kid.
Did you know that "Family Matters"...
I think that Rocko's Modern Life is one of the best cartoons of all time. The weird story lines like Heffer the cow finding out that he was adopted, even though his family is a pack of wolves are just priceless.
Does anyone remember Legends of the Hidden Temple? That was pretty awesome, too.
Chewie's son's name in that special is "Lumpawarrump," which is pretty goofy.
On a side note, has anyone seen the Chewbacca and Darth Maul puppets on the Project Puppet gallery page? I don't know who did them, but they're awesome!
Darth Maul link here.
Chewbacca link here.
It seems like all the cool kids are posting about old PBS shows. Did anyone else grow up watching Wishbone, with the dog that imagines he's characters in great works of literature? Looking back, they handled some pretty heavy themes, like the French Revolution and the guillotining of Sydney...
The jackets that the kids got to wear were pretty awesome, too. I'm not sure whether I liked them or the Mickey Mouse Club jackets better.
I always felt bad for the kids at the end that got a tough continent like Africa to put the little flags on. What fourth-grader (or adult for that matter)...
CoOKiE: I contacted them two days ago, and it said that they are out of stock and won't have any more until the new year. I don't think it's a seasonal thing.
If you look at the "Contact" page and e-mail or call the person under the 'fleece' listing, they can tell you. I haven't seen it anywhere...
This place is crazy! The Governor was arrested yesterday for trying to get Chicago Tribune editorial writers that he didn't like fired, for threatening to withhold $8 million in funding for a CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL if he didn't get a $50,000 donation to his campaign, and for trying to sell Barack...
Are there links or phone #'s for the best place to buy antron? I am making some puppets and was looking at the regular fleece, wondering how different it looks. Is there any way to stitch the regular fleece that will do a pretty good job of hiding the seams, or is that just a losing battle?
Cold and snowy in Chicago, though it's pretty...better than the nasty freezing rain we had last weekend. The City has stopped plowing side streets because of budget issues, which means the winter should be fun!
Hi, all--my name is Josh, and I'm a new puppet builder. I've been into traditional animation and sculpture for a long time, and I'm a huge Muppet fan, so I decided to give puppets a try, too. I'm a recent college grad working in Chicago (as a paralegal...so, not very artistic, save the doodles...
Thanks, everyone for your help! I think I'm going to try the plasti-dip. I have some Sculpey as a backup, though! I'll post some photos when I'm closer to being done.
Hi, everyone. I'm new to the forum. I'm making two dinosaur puppets (a T-Rex and a triceratops) for my cousins, ages 5 and 7, for Christmas. Does anyone have any ideas for making teeth and/or horns? I'm worried about them being foam, since then they'd be bendable. Maybe there's some...
