Assuming this isn't some mock feud between Regis and the Muppets, I find it hard to believe that a big annoying ham like Regis would publicly show disdain for the Muppets when the same company that currently owes them also owns the network he's seen on and pays his fat paychecks.
Y'know, I actually hope that they shoot the enitrety of the Fraggle Rock movie in Toronto. Canada truly is the home of the Fraggles, and I think they need to preserve that connection.
Well, I certainly agree that the possibility of a Fraggle Rock movie is the best Muppets news in a good long while, but I'm not sure I agree that the Disney aquisition of the Muppets should be given credit for great things happening in the Brian Henson camp. The Henson's had all these great...
I definitely preferred the original Gobo look to the one he ended up with. I always figured they changed his appearance to show that he matured or whatever (a move which I found unnecessary), but still, his first appearance was much more fun and, in my opinion, more Muppety. I never liked his...
I see this film as an experiment. As such, it can't really fail. If the Henson company had planned this as a big ol' Lord of the Rings-type blockbuster then it would have been made available to theatres over a year ago. As it stands, it seems to be a modest budgeted fantasy film with no...
I don't know if this is old news or what, but I just saw that they're releasing Saturday Night Live: The First Five Years on DVD. Now, assuming this is an uncut and complete collection, theoretically, ALL the Gorch skecthes should be included. This would make the DVD a real find not only for SNL...
I admit that I'm partly replying here so as to be in the same thread as two of my favorite MC posters (Fozzie and Vic, you guys still rule). But I'm also here to embarrasedly ask: What is spam (and I don't mean the lunchmeat or Muppet Treasure Island character)? And here's to the hopes that I...
I may be wrong, but I'm almost sure that Puzzle Place was the kids show that the Henson people took legal action against for their puppets looking too "Muppety." Just thought you'd be interested.
Admittedly, none of the 1975 cast is around anymore, and now that Al Franken has moved on, the last of the original writing staff is departed as well. Hopefully you're right, and any prejudices towards the Muppets have gone the way of disco. And the guest spot they had on SNL is probably a sure...
SNL has had a beef with the Muppets from day one, so it's no surprise that they're keeping the Gorch sketches buried. I've always loved the original SNL cast, but it bugged me to no end how they and the writers all dumped on the Muppets, spoke badly to the press of having to work with them, and...
What I'd really love to see would be an original story that would go back and show Kermit's beginning in showbiz, starting with him "joining" the cast of Sam and Friends. I think that'd be a lot of fun.
