The best thing about Headset Mics compared to Lavaliers is that no matter what direction you move your head in is that the mic will stay the same distance away from your mouth. If you turn head away from wherever the mic is clipped then the change in volume will be noticeable unless you speak...
I wish I did but have only seen the picture. I searched for information on it and read that it was inspired by the Muppets.
And yes that's what I meant!
Wooow long time since I've been here!
Anyways I was going through the I-Fest Handson Workshops list on One Way Street and saw the Rubberband Man. Honestly I can't really wait a whole year to find out how to make one. I tried searching online but no luck D:
So I was wondering, does anyone...
I know what you mean, I've seen it before :]
They're generally called 'Proppets' and I've made something similar to that before.
If you'd like you can PM me and I can give you details on what to do. The one I made used styrofoam but you can adapt it to use foamboard.
Wow your replicas are amazing! I'm impressed! Especially with Gonzo! The nose must've been tough to do.
I remember reading in a Jim Henson Muppet Book about how Big Bird was operated with a wire in one arm and the puppeteers in the other. Pretty interesting!
I recently bought some Antron Fleece and am excited on putting it to use. However I'm concerned mainly about dying the fabric.
I'm aware that many people use RIT dyes but what other kinds are recomendable? I wanted to die some of them fluorescent colors so I may also use them for blacklight...
Haha what a great idea, you guys are doing great stuff!
A minor suggestion however is too keep those arms covered with long black gloves. If you see in the elevator scene and also the clip where you guys play the Austin Powers Songs [don't know what it's called] you can seen some human skin O...
Holy Whoa they look great! Nice job on them! Cye has so much personality I'm tempted to make a puppet modeled after Cye myself now haha and the other one reminds me of Monster's Inc:)
XD I consider myself a pretty amateur artist but when people see my CG artwork they think its pretty topnotch haha. But I think creativity is one of the essential parts of puppetry and sort of goes hand in hand with it.
I'm not surprised that so many good puppeteers are also good artists
Really? I thought it was a needle problem, the material itself is so rough and even my dad, who used to be a tailor ages ago, hates the material..
And I didn't really mean the Antron Fleece, I meant the shaggy looking material used on the body alone >>;
And I think I will attempt to make my...
Hello, does anyone have a fraggle puppet pattern they wouldn't mind sharing with me?:) I've been searching for one on eBay and in the forums and haven't had any luck yet:o [except with puppetise but i'd like other variations as well]
Also I have a question, does anyone know what kind of...
@itchekadoozy thanks I really like the sound of that!
@practicecactus Wow it looks great! Amazing work, I like that method but doubt it'll work for me since my fingers are soo long xD
@Tztz I don't know much about animatronics or mechanical eyes so I'm not sure I'd be able to make one...
Lately I've been searching through various forums and websites, collecting various methods on making blinking eye mechanisms. The method I like best so far is threading the ping pong balls onto a wire and making a trigger. However I'd like to hear from fellow puppet builders personal experiences...
I'd be willing to do so :] My price would only cover the materials cost plus labor. I work quickly and efficiently as well. PM if you're interested and would like to send me questions or information.
I have never attempted to shrink a pattern but admit, it does sound tempting now! The only thing is i have big hands, the biggest in my puppetry team so existing patterns work well for me since my hands fit perfectly:o However I would love to try and see how good a just right mouth plate would work!
That's good! Its always good to hang onto a character, as long as they were well made they should last a good long time. I suggest trying to clean him up as best as you can then spraying some fabric protector on it. Would immensely help keep him clean!
Recently I decided to completely dismantle a puppet i made when i was 12 because even though it wss my 3rd one, it looked the worst of all the three xP I decided I'd try to restore it using the same foam pieces and fabric and have started sewing in the yarn hair [ran out though so have to go buy...
