Actually...they were both shot at 1.33:1, intended for a theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The unmatted 1.33:1 versions of any Muppet movie are unuseable, since (as the original video of The Muppet Movie shows) puppeteers usually appear at the bottom of the frame, so the best aspect ratio they...
The Museum of Television and Radio: A Trip Report - Day Four
Okay...I finally got around to typing this. I had watched a glut of Henson material, but I still had one more day. So I decided to make the last day just as good as the other three. Here is what I watched:
-John Denver and the...
Hey...
Can ANYONE help me get unedited episodes of The Muppet Show (not any of the episodes available from Time-Life on VHS or DVD) and Fraggle Rock on tape? For The Muppet Show, I will accept recordings from syndication, CBC, TNT, or YTV. For Fraggle Rock, I will accept recordings from HBO...
The Museum of Television and Radio: A Trip Report - Day Three
Well, moving right along...after the first two days at the Museum, I spent two more. Here is a report of the third day (pardon the short reviews, I am very tired):
-Sesame Street: 1973 Season Premiere
Unbeknownst to me, I had...
The Museum of Television and Radio: A Trip Report - Day Two
When we last left me, I was asleep in my hotel. The next morning, I woke up, and watched bad TV shows. Then I went to the Museum, and picked out more programs. Here is what I picked:
-Saturday Night Live w/ Richard Pryor
I only...
Hey...can anyone help me get a CD-quality MP3 file of the TV version of the Fraggle Rock theme song? There is a good-sounding version on Muppet Central Radio, but I'd like to have a copy for myself. Can anyone help me?
I knew something was different, but by the time I really found out by reading this site's guide, I had forgotten most of the differences. Nothing from the original edit was removed from the final edit, though...I think that this episode must have been substantially shorter than its final running...
The Museum of Television and Radio: A Trip Report - Day One, Part II
OK, to avoid making a bunch of threads, I decided to condense my trip report into one thread. So here goes...
When we last left me, I was leaving the Museum to go get dinner. I ate at the Koo-Koo-Roo about 4 buildings down...
Well, I'm back from Southern California, and the Museum of Television and Radio. I am now going to give a report of my visits there:
Day 1 (Thursday, August 8)
I drove down to L.A. and got to the Museum around 1:40. They said that a console wouldn't be open until 2:15, but if I was a...
No no no! The 4 minutes were cut before the film went to theaters. The only thing cut between theaters and video was (allegedly) the "I'll have a grasshopper" line, and even that is debatable. I believe it was only on the soundtrack, and never in any released version.
Yeah, see what other DVD petitions have gotten loads of signatures (one was started here)! But seriously, a box set of episodes would not be feasible, since there are too many of them, and skits are always repeated. I'd rather go for a 2-disc set of classic skits dating from 1969-89...
Hi...there's something I need to say. I will be gone Thursday-Sunday, because I am going down to L.A. to the Museum of Television and Radio. I am going to view about 24 hours' worth of various programs from the Jim Henson archive, including the rare Tales of the Tinkerdee pilot, and the various...
