I just wish the patterns weren't so expensive. I definitely can't afford to get the pattern and the covering pattern right now. I still need to find alocal place to get reticulaated foam too. I don't want to order online or over the phone.
Amazing. That's all that comes to mind. Great work!
Which pattern did you use? I was going to make my own patterns for my big project (still 4 puppets away lol) but now I'm reconsidering. Thanks!
Um, hmm...not really sure. I worked on it very sparatically but probably about 50 hours to make. That doesn't include planning or shopping for materials. I had to carve the head from clay twice because I couldn't get the first one out of the plaster and I also ended up going with a full head...
What plug-in do I need to view the episodes? I get this error all the time and my computer can never figure otu what plug-in I'm missing. I would really like to see what you've got. I have both Window's Media Player and Quicktime, I just can't view either in a browser.
EDIT: I use FireFox...
I just listed my latex-head puppet for sale on ebay. I had originally intended to use it myself, but have changed the whole theme of the show I am planning so I am selling the puppet to recoup some cost to put into my next puppet.
Please check it out...
Apendola's reply got me to look at your work and I feel it is not all exactly the same, but I do have a question: Do your puppets have the other (non human hand controlled) arm? It's not visible and was wondering if you could provide a picture that showed more without revealing the puppeteer...
Shari Lewis was by far my greatest inspiration to get into ventriloquism. I am really a ventriloquist and not a puppeteer, but I love this forum none-the-less. I was only in sixth grade when she died and I was devastated. I still remember when her daughter, Mallory, and Lamb Chop accepted her...
Does anyone have any info about the costume? Know of any sites where I can see pics? I think I saw half of an episode ONCE and fell in love with Bear. It just amazes me. Seems to be the same concept as Big Bird, but I think because it could be considered life size and more realistic it just...
I was like, "What's up with that left hand?" Then I realized it's for your left hand lol. So cool! I'm a vent myself so I try to build my puppets that way so I don't pick up onb things like that very quickly. As a matter of fact I'm in the process of trying to develop legs for the glorified...
This was not what I intended to do at all, but now I'm considering making some replicas of my own. I don't expect them to be amazing, but I want to try it out. Can anyone tell me what kind of material covers Elmo's body? It appears Elmo has changed a bit over time so past and present would be...
Thanks! Cockatoo is the correct spelling and yes that is what it's supposed to be (not sure what you were questioning). I finally saw the show last night and voted for him, but I wasn't impressed. He just redid his Godzilla thing basically, yet he mentions a 40 min show. If he makes it...
I do not have more pics at the moment but will take more when the puppet us actually finished...they are taken so long to dry I forgot that I have latex feet in the works still lol.
