Does that count as Sci-fi? It seems like fantasy to me (though it was filmed like it wasn't a puppet movie, which I dug; was a regular fantasy movie that just happened to feature puppets).
True. I think of myself as a writer, also. Podcaster is more of the technological platform. Puppeteer would I think cover it all, but if you don't know that (as most people seem to think) then if you describe yourself as a puppeteer, they might think you just work the puppets, but don't do any...
Can anyone think of any all-puppet productions (TV or Movies) that are sci-fi? I don't mean a Farscape, with puppet characters, but an entirely puppet-based production. The only one that comes to mind is "Brats of the Lost Nebula," but that's a very comedic show, and it can't be the only one...
The focus on this is less the Palpatine puppet and more my little brother, but it's pretty funny, so I thought I'd share. I hope you all can indulge me. :)

I want something that doesn't sound too inflated for myself. Creative Director or something like that doesn't hit on the puppet part of things. Granted, you're talking a puppet studio, so there's the implication, there.
Puppet Builder could work for Maddy. It does sound better, I agree, than...
Hey all,
Two questions: I'm trying to think of titles both for myself and Maddy for Hoggworks. I could list myself as a puppeteer, but there are a large number of other jobs I do in the course of making the videos, the puppets, doing the creative planning, etc. I think of a title like, say...
You're not giving up the dream if you take a day job -- you're being pragmatic, and acknowledging that you're not making enough money from the puppetry/puppeteering work. You're certainly not saying you'll never make good money at it, or enough to be able to quite the job. What you're saying is...
Hey all,
I asked this before a long time ago, but I was hoping to get a heads up of puppeteers in the Toronto/GTA/surrounding area. I know a lot of you, but I'd love to know if there are more people who are in the area since the last time I asked.
I'm in Kitchener, but will be in Guelph some...
Patterns would help if it's hand-made. :)
It seems to me that since a lot of people are making puppets that are very similar, you ought to be able to take a pattern for the body type you're looking at, and have some minor modifications to fit.
Thanks for the link, Whispers, I'll check it out.
Yeah, I suppose it really depends on how young the kids you want to appeal to are.
Also fart jokes work with a surprisingly large number of children AND adults.
Hey all,
Are there any patterns out there, or sources of patterns, for simple/complex clothing for puppets? I realize that this is a bit of a tough question, considering that every puppet is fairly unique, but considering the general body shapes that get made, it seems like there ought to be...
This may not be applicable, but if I were making an all-ages show, I'd either make the framework kid-friendly (as in, making with the kid logic), and make the jokes more adult-friendly, or go the other way around.
I always remember an episode of the Simpsons I watched with my nephew a few...
Hey all,
So over at Ask Palpatine, 26 episodes in, we've got new discussion forums, and two contests. One is to give Palpatine a new first name -- he's so old he forgets what his original name was -- and the other, where you can win a prize, is a design contest where you design a better looking...
