Hm, that's really interesting. I did always kinda wonder what "calling birds" were - parrots really didn't seem to fit! :p That's very funny that the rings aren't actually rings at all but pheasants. Puts a very different spin on that!
Ah, ok. Yes, I see that now. :p
I pop in now and...
Actually, wouldn't the total list actually be 12 partidges in pear trees, 22 turtledoves, 30 French hens... You get the idea. Because the way it's sung, it sounds like they get that stuff AGAIN the next day in addition to the new stuff. :p

Today, I tried to pick up Clay Aiken's new single, which includes Neil Sedaka's "Solitaire," but I found out the release has been indefinitely postponed. :( I was really looking forward to that!!

I just heard that Keiko, the orca who played Willy in "Free Willy," died. I thought that was sad. :( I wonder how long killer whales normally live. They said they kept trying to release him and he kept coming back. I always thought "Free Willy" was a great movie. Ah, well. I'm a sucker for...
:o Aw, thanks! That was back in fifth grade. It was a great costume! It *was* quite warm, but nowhere near as roasting as my first grade Ewok costume! :p

I guess Liv Tyler was on Good Morning America today and was speaking in Elvish to Charlie. I missed it. Oh, well. I thought before I saw the first movie that I might be really irritated by Arwen's expanded role in the films, but it really doesn't bother me. And it's not like she's in there...
I wanted to dress up for the movies, but I never have. Too complicated, I guess. And rather uncomfortable, too, I'd imagine. When I was Bilbo for Halloween, I was very uncomfortable - mostly because of the pillow stuffed up my shirt. :p

Wow, that's so cool! I wish we were going. I don't think Erie has one, though, I haven't heard anything about it. And, anyway, I have to work 8 and a half hours today. Bleah. But I'm sure you'll have a great time! :D

Peter Jackson said that? Because I read that they had another seven-minute sequence concluding his story that would be in the ROTK DVD. Maybe, though, that alternate ending just involves him getting killed then, but his character still did have a rather important role following the attack on his...
Hehe, my brother and I are listening to Christmas music, and he put in Mannheim Steamroller but then decided he wanted to listen to music with lyrics. So he ended up deciding to turn on the radio. First was a song he didn't consider a Christmas song, though it sounded pretty Christmassy to me...
I'm not sure if this is better suited to this thread or the Christmas one, but does anybody know what the line in "A Baby Just Like You" about "colors dark and candles dim and dark my standing under" means? I've never quite gotten that line...

That's cool. Grading is sometimes the biggest pain of being a professor. My dad often has big lower-level courses, though, with 50 or so students, so all that grading gets to be awfully cumbersome. (Whenever he has multiple choice, true and false, or other objective questions like that on his...
Well, Nathan's audition was today. It sounds like it went pretty well. They did private auditions, which kinda surprised me. Nathan sang "If I Were a Rich Man," and they cut him off just before the part where Tevye sings about filling his yard with noisy poultry. I don't think Nathan minded too...
Sure thing! :) I know what you mean about the end-of-semester craziness. And The Two Towers is a pretty hefty time investment in itself when you're in that finals crunch. My dad was lucky this year, he only had one class with six students in it, and their final was today. So he's done now! Yay...
Welcome, Nicole! That's cool you decided to follow Katie here. She's a very nice person! Muppet Central is a super site, and the forum is lots of fun - and dangerously addictive! ;) I hope you have a great time here! :)

Hey, Andy, did you see the bit in the commentary on the Two Towers DVD about C. S. Lewis? I hear they have a nice feature about his friendship with Tolkien and their influence on one another. I'm looking forward to seeing it whenever I get the DVD.
