We just found out yesterday that Nathan's school has three foreign exchange students coming and somehow doesn't have host families for them, so they're looking for people to agree to do it last-minute. Nobody's at the dean's office on the weekend, no answering machine even, but we emailed them...
I heard something about that last year. Clay tried out like that before he went to Atlanta, and they rejected him! I didn't hear anything about it here, but I guess in some places they do it. Maybe that serves as the first stage of the audition process, then they're sent somewhere else...
Ugh. Lousy luck. :( What do you sell over eBay? You must have an awful lot with 37 auctions going on right now! So will they let you back on after a while, or are you out of luck?

Well, the guy they highlighted in the paper yesterday didn't make it, but today I found out that there is at least one person from Erie (technically Millcreek, one of Erie's townships) going in front of the three judges. He's 28, so he was thrilled when he found out he could audition this year...
Mystery Science Theater 3000. Which I've never seen, but would like to.
My list:
Star Trek
Star Trek: TNG
Quantum Leap
I know there must be more, but I can't think of any right now.

Aw, rotten luck. :grouchy: But I'm glad you had a good time and can't wait to hear about it! :) Six hundred miles each way??? That is a lot of driving!

I'm not sure what to think of the upcoming season. It's way too early to tell, of course, but they had a couple articles about it here in Erie since a lot of people here went to Cleveland to try out. Out of everybody in the area, only one made the first cut. They said 20,000 people were lined...
Yeah, I think he may be at the point where he's trained his audience too well. There's only so far you can go in coming up with a very surprising but utterly believable ending.

I definitely tend to think of myself as nerdy, and I've got plenty of passions to back it up. It's kinda weird having LOTR so super-popular; I always felt rather possessive of it. We read "The Hobbit" in 8th grade and my teacher gave me an alternate project because I knew so much about the...
Well, yeah, that's one problem with Shyamalan movies once they've been around a while. My parents saw "The Sixth Sense" in February of 2000 and couldn't believe nobody spoiled the ending for them.

I didn't realize that The Village was rated R. That makes me a bit nervous, particularly since it's a thriller. I don't want to be scared out of my wits...

That two-headed snake is cool. Not so crazy about the worms, though... :concern: Speaking of National Geographic, I was just reading this month's issue. They had an awesome article about Banjo Paterson, the guy who wrote "Waltzing Matilda." I was never a huge fan of that song because there's...
