I've also seen the S.S. characters billed as "Jim Henson's Sesame Street Muppets" so there is no confusion.
I personally don't know a thing about Puppet Heap (except to say that they will be getting my resume' tomorrow!), but Henson has been subcontracting desin, buiding and performance jobs...
There were a couple of o.k. ones in "The Muppet Movie Story Book". If you don't have access to a copy, PM me with a personal email address and I might be able to get something to you.
I just checked the items I've listed and many of them (though non-Muppet) relate to subjects discussed in recent Message Board osts (Shari Lewis, Bob Clampett, Disney, etc.)!
Anyway, hee's the link:

Yeah, she's kinda creepy looking now like an anorexic Betty Boop.
First Kathie Lee, then Martha, now Star. If we could just lose Mary Hart and Paris Hilton, it would be safe to watch TV again!
I myself remember watching Carroll on the onld "Bozo the Clown" show that was produced in Boston mid-late 1960's and showing out here in L.A.. I thought even back then that the costume work was so much better than the hand puppetry he was doing. I also think that Jim probably recognized...
I saw her doing her thing on some PBS fund raiser stuff, and she was VERY good, although it's weird hearing her own voice (not her mother's) conversing with Lambchop. I don't know if she is capable of the other characters.
One interesting idea is that they are considering doing an idea Shari...
As Cheryl Blaylock explained it to me, Jim wanted Carroll to do "regular" Muppets as well as Big Bird and Oscar and along side the first-string performers (Oz, Nelson et. all) and that Carroll was reluctant to do so.
I wouldn't begin to speculate "why", except to say that Carroll is an...
Except that Kermit 's head is all fabric, his body is fabric and foam. Muppets like Dr. Teeth are usually foam, painted, dyed or flocked, and in rare cases (like Sam the Eagle) foam covered in fleece like the Sesame Street characters.
Of course I have no way of knowing what kind of timeline/deal was made, and anything is possible in Hollywood. Maybe Burns had an option to write a screenplay should one ever be considered, for maybe he submitted an idea for a made for TV movie for example.
Also, treatments and scripts can...
"Mallory" is Mallory Tarcher, Shari's only child. She worked with her mother on the last few projects puppeteering and producing. She has taken over performing Lambchop and does an INCREDIBLE job! The voice and movements are neer perfect, and even thoguh she is now or never will ever be the...
Projects, especially movies can be years in development. Look how long it took Jim to sell anyone on the idea of a "puppet show" for adults! It's possible Jack did an early draft years before they went into production.
Just a thought, though.
My whole sorted story is written up here under "MY VERSION OF BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE MUPPET MOVIE" thread:

Unfortunately, I'm sure we've never met since I never got to go to NY.
PM me if you would like to chat and maybe exchange...
Anytime you have facial animation, heads have to be at least partly hollow. Bert's is, and re-enforced to the eyebrow mechanics.
There's a great often-used photo of Jim actually working on the original Bert head, and you can see (kind of) how it's built.
No idea about patterns-sorry!
I totally agree that time marches on, and torches have to be passed. And it's great when it works (Like Jim Cumming's V.O. work in animation.).
Except Steve's Kermit just makes me miss Jim's even more.
Wish I would have seen it. Interestingly, Shari once told me she never let her daughter watch TV as a kid-not even Sesame Street. She supposidly didn't even have a TV in her living room!
Then again, her favorite puppet character was Miss Piggy-so go figure!
In Bernie Brillstein's incredible biography, he writes about his working relationships with his clients. In the case of Jim Henson, he spoke of how non-confrontational he was. There was some kind of problem with Jack Burns-like he thought he knew the characters better or could write better for...
