So is everyone suddenly hating Muppets 2011? It's weird that initially muppet productions receive critical acclaim on this site, but as time goes on, everyone starts to hate them. Same thing happened with VMX. I thought 'Pictures in my head' was a great song.

Considering Frank said this, I would love to hear his thoughts on the 2015 tv series. But Oz is right about all this, but at the same time, as he said, the muppets are back (or were) and I'm glad we got 2 good feature films even if they weren't as good as the muppets from 1981.

This keeps coming up everyone and it really annoys me. Yes, Jim wanted to sell the muppets to Disney BUT he wanted Full creative control. His kids just put them in a truck and sent them to the mouse.

Exactly! There were episodes of the muppet show where Kermit was bitter and mean, especially to Gonzo. Has she even seen the show? Either that, or she just said some random words in the moment.

I really don't know how things work, but MMW made $51 million in the United states and Canada & $80 million worldwide on a $50 million budget. Counting all the money they spent on promotion and all the money they made on DVD sales, I'd say they probably broke even or made a bit of profit...

And they almost always seem to be Jerry Nelson characters.

But he said he should have fired him in the mid 90's. If it were a minor problem, he wouldn't have minded. I still find it fishy that after all this time, it took until now for him to fire Steve I honestly "felt" like it was real for a good minute.

Weird. It still airs constantly on my station. Seems to be the only "classic" Pbs kids show airing aside from SS and Arthur.
