    The Chipmunks

That may... but you'd think with the money they make off the franchise in general that it wouldn't be a "total loss", y'know? But I mean, I can see where your coming, and it might make sense, but take the other Fox lawsuit... 20th Century Fox is the company that's been financing these movies...

    The Chipmunks

The only thing I have to say about The Chipmunks without bumping the old Chipmunks thread is this... I'm really, really aggrivated with Ross Bagdasarian, Jr. and Janice Karman right now, because it seems like ever since they won the rights back from Universal a few years ago, they seem to...

    Bizarre Sesame Street Painting

BERT: Say Ernie, where'd you put the ball and bat? What say we go to the park and practice some pitching? ERNIE: Um... gee Bert, uh... I don't know... I think, um... I think I'll just stay here, and... read a book or something... uh... *Backs away slowly* BERT: Hm. What's with him?

The Jim Henson Company Puppets to perform at the 2011 Grammys

Funny how this went from being a discussion of Puppet Up! characters at the Grammys, to a debate on whether or not said characters should still be refered to as "Muppets" or not, to a debate on what should be considered "family-friendly" and what should be considered "adult" entertainment...

    Least likeable Sesame character?

The 90s and early 2000s were obviously a big era for that trial-and-error phase. Just to name a few others: Ruby Monster, Merry Monster, Chicago the Lion, Kingston Livingston III, Roxie Marie, Joey and Davey Monkey, and even human characters like Mr. Handford, Savion, Carlo, Celina, etc.

The Jim Henson Company Puppets to perform at the 2011 Grammys

That's what I've said before regarding adult cartoons in general: that's the main problem with most of them these days, is that all the go for is shock factor, there is no clever and solid writing, all it is is, "Gee, let's see how far we can push the envelope this week with what we can get away...

Anyone else think that D A is a bit stuck up?

Sounds like somebody's in a bit of a bad mood today... :sympathy: Look pal, it's like I've told you before, people who watch you are mostly watching you for a specific kind of fandom you're a part of. What do you find of your art gets the most recognition? As I've said many times before, when...

The Jim Henson Company Puppets to perform at the 2011 Grammys

Jim Henson himself created those characters for SST - Big Bird, Oscar, Ernie and Bert, Cookie Monster, etc; therefore, they ARE Muppets.

Episodes that Have Stuck with You

Here's one I'm suddenly remembering... Big Bird and Snuffy were having a scavenger hunt, and Zoe wanted to play too, but they weren't so sure, because the object of the hunt was to find the biggest things on the street they could find, and they didn't think someone so small like her would be...

    Least likeable Sesame character?

I think part of what makes Baby Bear so unpopular is because he's a new(er) character. It seems to me that when you have a set group of characters for so long (until then, the core group of Muppets pretty much consisted of Big Bird, Snuffy, Ernie, Bert, Cookie Monster, Grover, Telly, Count...

The dark day of Valentines Day is upon us...

It's hard for me to tell whether or not I was able to get through V-Day this year any better or worse than last year... It kind of feels maybe a pint worse this year, I don't know, but then again, love has given me an off day every once in a while; I wouldn't say this has been one of those...

Noticeable Changes to the set over the years

I remember as a kid, I used to kind of spazz out a little bit during Herry's "Furry Blue Mommy of Mine", because I didn't understand why the arbor fence behind him was so busted up, like someone crashed through it, and did a lousy job trying to repair the hole. Has the fence appeared like...

    RIP Kenneth Mars

Yes! Thank you! I love the episode "Candle Jack", where Freakazoid stopped filming, to show the kids watching "behind-the-scenes" of the various characters, and refered to them by their actor's names, ala Hunterhanker as "Kenny Mars", and Cosgrove as "Eddie Asner", lol.

    RIP Kenneth Mars

Aww man, this is sad, he was both a great voice and character actor. I agree with Brian, he was great in Young Frankenstein. I also liked his character on Freakazoid!, I just can't remember his name at the moment.

The Jim Henson Company Puppets to perform at the 2011 Grammys

It doesn't matter, if they're Henson related, they're still Muppets. Like Drtooth said, the characters on SST ARE still refered to as Muppets, because they ARE Muppets. They come from Jim Henson's Creature Shop, as do just about ALL Henson-related puppets, whether they be owned by Disney, owned...

The dark day of Valentines Day is upon us...

The site must be corrupt, because all it does is just keep shutting down my browser (funny how it's always these sites with those YouTube/Facebook-esque toolbars at the bottom of the window that do it). But I like how they've turned the term "Valentine" into a verb.
