That would be neat, but I notice Eric is still available to perform Bert and Grover on SS, so if this news were true a new Muppet project probably wouldn't feature Fozzie, Piggy or Animal or if it did than they would need to be recast. I don't know. Your guess is as good as mine.
Yes. I know Kevin's still alive. But I've noticed we've lost quite a few puppeteers for various other reasons as well. Plus I recall Jerry had stopped performing his TMS characters a few years before his death.
So by then, for Fran and Steve, it's "go bye bye!" :halo:
Well as I mentioned in an earlier thread, Carroll has been quoted as stating that he would perform BB until he can no longer hold up the head, so I really think whenever it happens, we'd see it coming. So far I don't see any signs of...
Well, thanks for that info Snowth and Muppetfan. So I'm guessing it will be Billy doing Ernie in next Friday's ep. That's sad, but it's understandable. I'm sure we'll still hear Steve as :):shifty::eek:and:boo:. I guess we have to accept the fact that with a long-running show like "Sesame...
I didn't know she was retiring but that does 'splain why we haven't seen much of Zoe lately or Prairie even. I don't know if they'll be recast or if they'll be retired altogether. :):o:concern:: Or if they'll be retired.
I think they'll definitely keep Zoe since she's always prominent in...
I agree I notice this season Ryan is pretty much spot-on with Elmo compared to the few times we saw Ryan's Elmo last season last season when he was a bit weak with the voice. Recall, how Steve Whitmire struggled the first time he performed Kermit and now he's really got the voice and...
I agree. I still see no reason why they can't replay the classic sketches back when Jim played Ernie. Sure they may be outdated, but replaying those have been part of the show even after they changed the format. If they're hesitant about going that far back, then maybe they should introduce...
Yeah. I agree. It's not like when they had the old format or even "Journey to Ernie" where we're guaranteed an E & B (at least Ernie anyway) sketch per episode or a few seasons back when "Great Adventures" was a a regular thing. Now B & E sketches on the show are very rare and having them...
I see what you mean. Since right now, Steve only has one character so he's not needed on the show as much as he used to be. But you can look at it the other way around too, because he only has that one character it shouldn't be hard for him to make it to the set every once in a while. So it...
So does this mean the show will go back to only airing new eps on Thursdays now? I think we may have a full week of new eps in October. I'll have to check on that again.
Yeah. We haven't really seen him this season, other than the number zero segment which was repeated from last season. Hopefully that's a hint that he's going to get some more airtime soon.
Yeah. Where is Zoe this season? I haven't seen Telly or Baby Bear yet either. Hopefully we'll see them soon. But then again, this may be a good thing because it will give some other characters some air time. I know those three sort of dominated the spotlight the last few seasons so they may...
Yeah. I've noticed a difference in the voice at the beginning of the street story, but by the time they got into it the voice did sound more like Steve's. That's why I wasn't sure until I read the forums. I noticed in the ep guide that Ernie does have another street scene this season, so...
Yeah. I was thinking that we'd probably still hear Kevin as  in repeat episodes or even in inserts from earlier seasons, so they should have left his name in the credits. Heck, Henson was credited on the show long after he died, so that wouldn't be too much of a stretch.
Maybe it's best not to go there. Nothing against Matt or anything, but Carroll sort of "is" Big Bird. Plus Oscar doesn't even have an understudy that we know of so he has to still be around at least to perform him. We'll wait and see but Carroll has stated that he would perform BB & Oscar for...
I missed those two. It would be nice to see images if anybody has those. I also have to agree about the comic on the Count, I was expecting him to show up somewhere in a number themed episode, but you know how they always want to get Elmo in one way or another. I don't see why it's necessary...
So. It was Carroll and Matt. I guess the Count may have been mistaken on that one. Like I said that "There she is!" sounded very much like his "There he is!" in the JTE segments and now that JTE isn't on the show any more they probably want to give him some airtime, though he's probably busy...
They probably have spare CM puppets. How often do you see him with the baker's hat. But thanks for posting. I thought I was the only one who saw that show.
Really? It's so hard to tell anymore. I know I heard that you can tell when it's Matt because he has more of a congested sound, but Carroll's has gotten congested too in recent years. Though he does sound really good when he sings the "Letter/Number of the Day" songs. Even though he doesn't...
