    Avenue Q London

We now know that Avenue Q is to come over to England, thanks to Cameron Macintosh Ltd, and probably will start off at the Theatre Royal Stratford East. Just wondering if anyone has heard what will happen in terms of casting. I do hopw that the roles go to puppeteers, rather than singers...

    Long haired polar fleece

Sure, will try and find out any details I can. I should make clear that whilst it is long haired polar fleece it is long for fleece bt comparativley short for fur. It does seem to loose a little of the sheen when dyed I've noticed. I'll get some pics of the materials and of the puppet as soon...

    Long haired polar fleece

Came across some long haired polar fleece today and am very pleased with it. It has the elastic qualities of fleece, but the long haired fur look. It dyes well (either on a stove or in the washing machine) and is reasonably cheap. Anyone else here used it? James
  4. Punch'n'Judy

    UK version

We were both right, kind of. The earlier episodes were Louise Gold and Mike Quinn whilst the Simon O'Brien episodes were Dave Barclay and Geoff. Felix. Hope this is of some use. James

    Mike Quinn

Yea I've met Louise Gold a couple of times. The other muppet type encounters have just been with background performers/assistant puppeteers, some of whom I'm good friends with now.
  6. Punch'n'Judy

    UK version

Geoff certainly was assistant to Dave (i've seen the photos), whilst I think Mike did Sprocket for the French/German stuff, however I may be wrong. Will ask Geoff tomorrow. In the meantime if anyone can shed any more light I would be very interested.
  7. Punch'n'Judy

    Mike Quinn

I had lucky break the other day, in that I had taken a Muppet style aardvark puppet, that I am making at the moment, over to a friend who is a puppeteer and maker, for advice and suggestions. Geoff had worked extensivley with Mike Quinn, Karen Prell and Dave Barclay at Ultimate Animates...
  8. Punch'n'Judy

    UK version

Sprocket, in the UK, was performed by David Barclay and Geoff Felix, and they certainly made use of UK locations (the lighthouse etc), presumably, as mentioned earlier, to make it seem closer to home and more 'real'.

    Guide to Fraggle Floorwork

He doesn't have a computer I'm afraid, and besides I think there's certain legality issues about that. Cheers J

    How was Wembley's eye-rolling done?

I remember reading about this in Amy Van Guilder's Guide to Fraggle Floorwork, but for the life of me I now can't remember exactly what was said. All I remember was that his hair was on a hinge that would fold dorwards and cover the mechanism. I'll see if I can find the details. Best, James

    The most tear-jerking Muppet moment...

Just one person gets me every time, be it the version from TMS with Robin and co, the snippets of it we see recorded at St Pauls for Jim's Memorial Service, or from the official tribute, and of course the kids leters being read out. :sympathy:

    Jennifer Connelly on "Jonathan Ross"

Yes, she came across very well.

    Guide to Fraggle Floorwork

Just to clarify by library I meant my friends personal collection of books, but he's got enough puppet books to class it as a personal library. J

    Guide to Fraggle Floorwork

Yea it's a book, written by Amy V.G. as a guide for other productions of Fraggle Rock. It was in a friend's library (he worked on the European Fraggle series as a rigger, assistant puppeteer and the classy job of the hind end of Sprocket!) Lots of nice bits of info and some cute sketches...

    Guide to Fraggle Floorwork

I spent a very interesting hour yesterday reading through a friend's copy of The Guide to Fraggle Floorwork, by Amy Van Gilder, which details rigging etc for Fraggle Rock. Until then I was unaware of it's existence. Lot's of nice Muppet making facts etc in it. I for one was unaware that Fraggle...

    Shark

I was in Camden earlier this week so thought I'd walk up Oval Road to C.S just to kill a bit of time and there was a rather large shark in the back yard there. Any ideas where it's headed for or what it was from? Cheers James

    How does a Muppet walk?

Take a look at the making of Xmas Carol, on the DVD, in particular the Scrooge song sequence where Michael Caine walks up to his office door through a crowd of Muppets.

Louise Gold in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Finally managed to do something I've been meaning to do for a while last night...took a number of Muppet items down to the Palladium stage door and had them signed by Louise, which she seemed very happy to do. :excited: She also talked to someother audience members about Xmas Carol.
