I didn't watch all of it, but I caught Kermit and Miss Piggy's scene and stopped watching after Man or Muppet won. It's a shame Kermit and Miss Piggy didn't do anything during the acceptance speech.
And is it me or did it seem it took the slowest amount of time to announce the best song...
Emmet Otter wasn't a "picture book special" (it also wasn't a "Tales from Muppetland", despite being released on laserdisc as such). Jim Henson came up with the picture book specials idea in 1986, and only two were made. In fact I think the "Picture Book Specials" term may have been dropped by...
I can't exactly remember if her name was Gertie or Gerta. I can't quite determine if she's a female version of Chuck (though she's clearly smarter... and perhaps crazier), but it is the same Bobby. In that movie the two are science teachers who also act as mad scientists, inventing a machine...
I agree that that's a good song. Too bad Ernest didn't sing in the others. Though it's interesting that the one big song Ernest got to sing was a serious song as opposed to something silly. But then again, I don't really consider that a musical number... Ernest pretty much just sings to himself...
Here's the latest entry, which concerns Gordon http://www.sesameworkshop.org/our-blog/2012/02/24/this-week-in-sesame-street-gordon-and-african-american-fatherhood/
It even includes a fact that I had never known before: Gordon was named after somebody named Gordon Parks.
I'm watching the video right now, and one thing I noticed that seems odd: At the very beginning, when Gonzo introduces The Three Little Pigs, Rizzo seems to make a reaction, but shortly afterward when Gonzo starts narrarating, Rizzo says "Oh, you mean the three little pigs..." So did Rizzo...
I just watched Ernest Goes to Camp for the first time in years, and while it is still a good movie, I feel I want the Nostalgia Critic to review this. There's a LOT of stuff I could see the NC pick apart.
Still, I'll post some of my thoughts and observations:
Councilor Stinnis initially gets...
One thing that I hope gets included on the DVD and other releases: An official promo for season 4 of The Muppet Show. Because then that would mean it would definately be coming. Yeah, it's wishful thinking, but it'd be great if it did happen.
Hmmm... That may be a point, but I don't think Sam has ever done anything truly villanous (his role as Sherrif of Nottingham in Muppet Robin Hood does not count). He is a bit bossy towards the others, and doesn't seem to have any official authority over them, but that seems to be the extent of...
Something I thought about: When it's time for Kermit and Miss Piggy to rehearse, Kermit tells Piggy that the audience expects them to do a song together. Would all fans expect them to sing together whenever the Muppets do something? Because GMC and MTI are really the only ones where they sang...
I never really saw that. He keeps wanting the Muppets, and perhaps their audience, to be more normal and good, so to him he's doing a good thing. At least in The Muppets he doesn't appear to be unhappy with being with the Muppets again (even if he did get yanked by a hook... But so did Scooter...
I just saw scans from the back covers of the regular DVD and one of the combo packs, and noticed the description begins with "Muppet domination continues with a new movie..." Uh, I thought Disney STARTED it's "Muppet domination" with the movie (okay, it's promotion of the movie). And there...
Maybe Amazon goofed, but it looks like the regular DVD won't contain ANY bonus features at all. Shameful, Disney.
Good deleted scene. I have a feeling this isn't the whole deleted scene, as we don't see Gonzo throw the bowling ball. Since I'd expect both to be part of the same scene, it'd be a...
A couple of things not mentioned: Richard Hunt performed Camilla in the Gonzo Presents Muppet Weird Stuff VHS, and David Rudman performed Dr. Strangepork in the Muppet Studios Presents: You're the Director VHS. In the later, Nelson dubbed most of Strangepork's lines, but a few lines were...
For a long time, I thought the ending promo for the Muppet Playhouse Video releases showed a clip from the sketch where The Swedish Chef makes pancakes. But I recently found the promo on YouTube, and it's actually from the bagel sketch (though both sketches DO appear in the Muppet Treasures...
Several months ago on the Tough Pigs forum there was a thread about Muppet Treasure Island, and somebody thought Sam was miscast, as his character was helpful. I don't see how being helpful is out-of-character for Sam. I thought he was helpful... At what he thought was important (making others...
I'd like to say Oscar or Grover.
But then again, I also often feel like Sully, since a lot of people tend to interrupt me. And yet I feel I have the know-it-all aspects of Biff... And I sort of feel like Bruno. At my job I often have to carry fairy heavy things around, and I often don't feel...
Rewatched the scene, and the actual quote is "Why have you always had such a stubborn resistance to art?" So Gonzo didn't directly say anything about his acts, but still, seems the clip of Gonzo trying to pitch his dancing cheese act should have immediately followed. Or the backstage scene that...
