    Questions about anything

Why do people tend to feel the need to apologize for reviving old threads? Seems to happen a lot when somebody replies to a thread that hadn't had any activity in years, but there's no rule against it (some forums do, though... The old Golden Age Cartoons forum was one such forum). Do people...

    Camille Kampouris Appreciation Thread

I thought I'd start an appreciation thread for Camille Kampouris (aka Camille Bonora, before she was married). She was a major Muppet performer throughout the 1980s and 1990s, and then it seems like she stopped. She's one of the few long-running performers whose departure we know nothing about...

Labyrinth sequel in development - Variety report

Many people were reporting on Labyrinth sequel "news" because that's the one "in development" (NOT!) project mentioned that we didn't know about... But it seems we've all ignored the fact that it also mentions an Emmet Otter movie (probably not), which I had never heard of. Where's all the big...

The Muppet Show Season 4 "Thoughts"

I've mentioned in another thread that it seems like this season has the least amount of changes from the previous season. But it is odd how this season there's so many new characters who don't appear much, but are newly-built puppets as opposed to whatnots. I assume that Winny was meant to be...

So, I went to Sesame Workshop today...

So did Sesame Workshop provide transportation costs, or did you have to pay for that yourself (of course I don't know whether or not you live in the basic area)? They "joked" about Muppet Wiki being wrong about Fran Brill performing Miss Muffet in the Let's Eat video? I haven't seen that...

So, I went to Sesame Workshop today...

Congratulations. During your visit, did you happen to ask if there are more plans than what we know for the 45th anniversary?

Is JHC No Longer Involved with Alexander?

According to the review at The Mickey Mindset, Henson did co-produce the film. http://mickeymindset.wordpress.com/2014/10/06/review-alexander-and-the-terrible-horrible-no-good-very-bad-day/ I do want to see this movie, but I don't know when I'll have the time.

    TV Tropes

There's many movies and TV shows that weren't successful that have examples of "retroactive recognition" that eventually become cult favorites because somebody in the cast became a bigger star years later. I wonder if there should be a trope for works that are more-or-less the opposite: Shows...

    Questions about anything

So whenever there's a Saturday Night Live release spotlighting the best of a certain cast member or host, do they need permission from the spotlighted individual (or their estate) to make such a release? I'm guessing they don't need permission to put their material on the video, and the featured...

Your Thoughts: "Jim Henson: The Biography" by Brian Jay Jones

It's interesting, you say in the book that he ran it like a great businessman, while Street Gang says that he didn't run the company like a great businessman. Though in Street Gang it says that because he couldn't get himself to fire anybody (though he clearly did arrange for Jack Burns to be...

Warner Home Video now distributing Sesame Workshop DVDs

Well, the Numeric Con street story was great, but very few of the inserts were. There was only one Muppet insert, with a fish counting to five (interestingly, it's the only Muppet clip that shows up on sesamestreet.org in a search for "Henson", but Jim Henson is not credited for performing...

Sesame Street classic clips on YouTube

I realized that today is officially The Count's birthday, which Sesame Street noted on its official Facebook page. I sort of wish today's "throwback thursday" clip would have been a rare Count segment, though the one we got today was great as well.

Warner Home Video now distributing Sesame Workshop DVDs

Well I got Elmo's Super Numbers this morning and am watching it right now. It has the Numeric Con street story intercut with number segments. So far, most of the segments aren't exactly memorable (there are exceptions, like the 1 Limeric sung by Christopher Cerf). So far no Muppet number inserts...

Sesame Street classic clips on YouTube

Sesame Workshop added another rare clip I had never heard of (and I'm surprised it has already been added this early in the morning):

Funko to release Sesame Street toys

    It's a shame that these aren't packaged with a 45th anniversary logo.

    Questions about anything

So The Name Game is copyrighted.... But with so many names that can be used, would any cover be required to pay a licensing fee, or would they normally fall under free use parody? I know the song was a pop song, which I only remember hearing once, with the singer singing some "name game"...

    The "You know what?" thread

Vampires don't have reflections, but is that enough for their clothes to not have reflections? I would think maybe their outfits would show up in the mirror, but they don't. So maybe it's too difficult a film trick (though it'd probably be easier to do today). Maybe clothes loses its reflection...

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

So in the Child Play movies, Chuckie is part of a line of "Good Guy" dolls, which also includes such names as Oscar and Tommy... Yet they all look identical. What's the deal with this? If they're going to have different names, why not different looks as well?

Funko to release Sesame Street toys

If they release more, I wonder what characters would be more likely to be included: "old school" or "modern"? Does Funko normally do these in "series"? I know that when Funko released additional Muppet toys the company only put out two new ones, is this the case whenever any Funko line continues...

Funko to release Sesame Street toys

Well, it's been announced that Funko will release a series of vinyl Sesame Street figures, starting with a Super Grover exclusive, and a full series being released in 2015, consisting of Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover, Oscar, and The Count. http://www.toughpigs.com/funko-ss/
