Sesame Street "Lost and Found" at the Museum of the Moving Image with Rosemarie Truglio and Norman Stiles November 24, 2019

I've been to only a handful of these events, and really, they aren't often full houses (sad, but true).

Sesame Street "Lost and Found" at the Museum of the Moving Image with Rosemarie Truglio and Norman Stiles November 24, 2019

I assume they get things from SW on a "We need this" basis; I doubt Sesame just handed over their entire archive over to them. At the most recent MOMI event, they had a bunch of Sesame clips of varying quality - some were clearly taken from some of the DVDs while some of the newer stuff in HD...

Sesame Street "Lost and Found" at the Museum of the Moving Image with Rosemarie Truglio and Norman Stiles November 24, 2019

Keep in mind, this is really a Jim Henson Legacy-run thing, not a Sesame-run thing. And they've done these types of events before - a few years ago they had a great screening of just random Henson stuff they had recently remastered into HD (and it looked Bee-utiful).

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street 50 Years and Counting DVD Set

Cool. I entered a few giveaways online, so I'll be waiting a couple of weeks to see if/how I'll be getting this.

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street 50 Years and Counting DVD Set

Are the street stories all the scenes or just ones most relevant to the plot?

Where are all these classic Sesame Street episodes coming from?

I'm sure there's some report out there from 1969 justifying the episode count, but really, I have no idea why they chose to do 130 episodes a year. I think they should've knocked that down ages ago - more money for better shows (I mean, presumably more money).

Where are all these classic Sesame Street episodes coming from?

It could either be a budgetary thing or a "we exhausted all our ideas for material" thing.

    Happy Birthday, Oscarfan!

Well, if that's the way I'm perceived, I guess I won't do it this year either! (thanks all, btw)

"Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration" special to air November 9 on HBO and November 17 on PBS

It's not officially announced when it's airing; people were just guessing it would be Nov. 10 because, well, you know.

    50th Anniversary DVD announced

Yeah, there's three hours space for 50 years worth of material. Two of the same thing takes away time from other stuff, especially because those segments are longer than others.

    50th Anniversary DVD announced

I hope not; they don't need more than one Crumby Pictures bit.

"Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration" special to air November 9 on HBO and November 17 on PBS

They found that out through the Ice Bucket video; they thought my channel was someone on the inside apparently. I met with some folks for a day, got some free swag and that was pretty much the extent of it.

No, I never interned there, nor do I currently work there. I just talk to people who know stuff going on on all facets of Muppet-related-things.
