I thought I'd start a thread about the season 2 segment The Magic Apple. For those who haven't seen the sketch, it's a story segment, with Bob reading and Ernie acting out the story with other characters. The story plot invovles a fairy godmother who offers to grant Ernie one wish, but Ernie has...
Lately, I've been wondering if The Jim Henson Company was desperate to sell the Muppets to Disney back in 2004. For one, I don't think we knew that the company was in talks with Disney regarding selling the characters. Of course, I don't know how common it is for such buyouts to be known about...
Does anybody know why Muppets From Space wasn't directed by anybody invovled with the Jim Henson Company? According to the Joey Mazzarino intwerview at Tough Pigs, Russell Klieser was originally hired to direct, and then was replaced by Tim Hill. All previous Muppet movies except for TMM were...
Enjoy this series of fan fics. This is the week that the high school I went to has spring break, so I will post a five-episode mini-series. I will try to post one epsode per day. Enjoy it.
Episode 1
Opening
[Note: This opening is basically used in every "episode". This is the only...
Enjoy this outline, which was suggested to me by kathy26. It takes place in the fourth season.
Cold Open
Scooter tells Shari Lewis that the show starts in fifteen seconds. Lamb Chop has a bit of stage fright, but then Gonzo tells her she'll be fine. Lamb Chop figures that if Gonzo can make...
I've noticed that for the majority of this decade, most pig characters besides Miss Piggy haven't been used at all in any productions. Howard Tubman had a cameo in It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, and a similar-looking pig was used in Tinseltown, but otherwise we haven't seen the pgis...
I've recently noticed some similarities and contrasts to Miss Piggy's two recurring sketches, Veterinarian's Hospital and Pigs in Space.
For one, both sketches feature three regular characters. And in both, the three usually appear in the same spots in every sketch, but in contrast, in VT...
It seems like Pigs in Space is one of the most popular Muppet Show sketches, and yet it seems like Jim Henson didn't really take advantage of the sketches popularity. I was looking at the Muppet Wiki page for Pigs in Space, and under the merchandise list it appears that only one Pigs in Space...
Over the years, Bert and Ernie haven't had a consistient billing. Sometimes, Bert is billed first, and sometimes, Ernie is billed first. Though it does seem like in recent years Sesame Workshop has been giving Bert top billing most often (in video clips on the website, the new Bert and Ernie's...
Has anybody noticed that during most of the 1980s, Miss Piggy didn't karate chop or get mad at Kermit very much? I wonder if there were plans to soften her or something. But it seems that she eventually did go back to karate chopping him in the 1990s, in Kokomo, Muppet Treasure Island, and...
Enjoy this fan fic, in which the Muppets make plans for a 55th anniversary special (sort of like the Studio DC specials, only better).
(A "The Muppets 55th Anniversary Planning Special" appears before the show begins. The show takes palce in an editiing studio, where the Muppets plan on...
I've been wondering this for awhile, and after l looked it up at wikipedia I still couldn't find (or understand) the answer. Mayeb you all know.
Anyway, I've read that ficticious characters are trademarked instead of copyrighted, and a trademark is good as long as it's still being used. But...
Thanks to a private message request by Kathy27, here is a season 20 outline. She actually requested this plot, but I have decided to make it a multi-episode story.
Here is part 1.
Scene 1
Big Bird welcomes the viewer to Sesame Street, and goes to Hooper's Store, where he finds David...
I watched every episode of The Jim Henson Hour on you tube recently (well, I didn't watch all of Living with Dinosaurs or Dog City... and the later has been taken down), and thought I'd post my thoughts on all of the MuppeTelevision episodes. I'll include the MuppeTelevision pre-show for Dog...
Let's discuss that great animated series Darkwing Duck. It sure was great. My favorite characters were Darkwing, Launchpad, Honker, Megavolt, Quackerjack, and Steelbeak.
It is interesting that Darkwing Duck uses Drake Mallard as his secret identity, yet Launchpad, Gosalyn, and Honker are...
It had been a logn time since I last saw this sketch, but I heard it on a recent episode of The MuppetCast, and then watched it on youtube, and man, this scene sure is underrated. It's funny how Fozzie and Scooter start acting scarred when the aliens appear, who mostly just join in on the song...
Enjoy this fan fic, involving Solid Foam, the band from The Jim Henson Hour. I had considered titling this "Behind the Music: Solid Foam - A True Hollywood Story".
Announcer: In 1989, the Muppets main band, The Electric Mayhem, was temporarily replaced with a band called Solid Foam...
A few episodes of The MuppetCast ago, Steve Swanson covered a recent Henson event in Florida, where they screened Henson's number films. He mentioned that Henson made two series of number films, one for season one, and another for season two. However, I wouldn't call his second season number...
In those scenes where it's so dark that you can only see the eyes of teh characters in the scene, does anybody know how it's done? Are there just black puppets matching the black background who are given eyes that match the characters? Is black cloth put over the character (excluding the eyes)?
