I remember there was another skit with his cousin, or sister, where Cookie offered his cousin every different kind of cookie that existed, and then it turns out that his cousin doesn't even like cookies! Interests and favorite foods don't always run in the family. Then Ernie came along with a...
Actually, as it says in the Unpaved book, Kermit the Frog was not named after Kermit Love, it's just a coincidence. Jim Henson named his puppet Kermit before he even knew Kermit Love, or anyone he worked with! Kermit got his name when Henson was in 8th grade.
I don't think those cows always had the same names, or even performed by the same puppeteers. I know that on the News Flash with the cow jumping over the moon, the black and white cow is named Natalie, and she is performed by Jerry Nelson in that skit. So it's kind of hard to tell with those...
Well, if you look at some of the very early Unpaved episodes, you will see that sometimes, they have the same sketches repeated IN the same show like 2 or 3 times.
And with Pledge Week, I have noticed they do that. It's usually the bigger PBS stations that do it. For example, I live outside...
Alice Snuffleupagus - still on occasionally
Benny Rabbit - 1998
Buster the Horse - 1994
Little Chrissy - 1993
Elizabeth - 2002
This is when they stopped being used regularly. Benny Rabbit made an appearance in Elmo's World about Teeth, and in B.B. King's Letter B Song in 2001. And Little...
I never thought of that. But once again, kids don't like those old characters anymore. They're too complicated, and outdated. And also, they don't really like to have all those minor characters, they like to stick with the main ones.
It was actually Christopher Cerf from Sesame Street who told me all those things. Because he used to work on the show, he was a major songwriter. He's the one who invented all those rock parodies, and he was Chris of Chris and the Alphabeats, and has sung many times on the show. But they never...
I believe the very first one was the one with Rapunzel from Season 4, and the very last one was the one where he interviews the bird in the park whose parents are divorced, and she sings about it from Season 21. There's also another one from that same year with Old MacDonald's health farm.
What I have said in the past is that Elmo is pretty much the only character kids like now. They don't like those old characters anymore, because they're too old. Maybe they'll use them occasionally on Elmo's World, like they do now, but that's it.
The new season always used to start in November, as far as I can recall. Then starting in Season 31, it went to January. Then in 33, it was February. And now it's April. I think it's because they couldn't get everything done in time.
I believe they're all set for Seasons 35 and 36, but we don't know what will happen after 36. The show really is in danger of being cancelled, or turning into 100% Elmo's World. Let's just hope for the best.
I sure miss those shows from Season 25! Are they REALLY outdated?
Remember Scotter_101? He hasn't been here for ages, but he would probably remember the original airing of this show from Season 23.
And don't forget that great song "Elbows And Knees", which was in there too! It also had...
Well, that's basically why they're doing away with Unpaved, because not enough people are watching. And that's why they probably won't do the DVD series. I know they do have one for the Muppets, but I don't think people like the old Sesame Street as much. You're right, adults don't like to spend...
Well, they sure did sing a lot of old, classic songs. Rosita did that old Cecille song "I'm Gonna Get To You", and I didn't like the new version at all. But then they used that number 2 song with Chris Cerf singing, and then the classic Number 2 Train animation. But it was sweetened a little...
Sonny Friendly was actually performed by Richard Hunt originally. He is one of the few Muppets that was actually replaced by David Rudman. But the show you described was actually Richard Hunt with the word "HOT," because that episode originally aired in Season 23, and then it got re-aired in...
