If I remember correctly, Bear started wearing the vest at the start of season two...but the show never really did seem to jump the shark to me. It seemed like all of the episodes were of equal quality...if anything, I like the later episodes better than the earlier ones... But the CGI series...

I think part of it would depend on your puppet company. Is it mostly for adults, mostly for children, or for all ages? What kind of things are you planning on doing with your puppets?

Because sometimes, and this is something that at some time or another we all do, people lose focus of their true motivation. It's fine to have a religion that disagrees with what someone is doing or believing, but many people take that and use it in an out of control disagreement or war...

Most of it is that it is becoming a prominent issue today, so people try to figure out where they are in that, and then fight for that. If suddenly divorce became a prominent issue, then everyone would be choosing sides for that...it just seems to be whatever topic is on the block...
