Thirteen Plus in One
Some say that we lost a Muppet performer
Nothing more and nothing less
Some say we lost a visionary
And that is all
But I believe we lost an innocent five year old
Sitting, wondering why
I believe we lost a hipster
Singing a groovy song
I believe we lost a counting...
Beautiful...just beautiful.
Thank you for that. It's such a wonderful reminder that even with Jerry gone, Jerry's Muppets will still live on, maintaining that piece of him inside of them, one that will never leave. And also a wonderful reminder that the piece of Jerry in us will never leave...
You might be an obsessed Muppet fan if today you are refusing to eat chicken and fish at all costs.
You might be an obsessed Muppet fan if you are going to take the trash out in memory of Jerry Nelson.
I just thought of this:
Y'know that Delta Faucets commercial that used a portion of The Count's "Hands" song that debuted in 2009? It's weird, but I just saw that commercial last night on TV. :batty:
*all listening to MCR*
Hubert: *sings along* When the mountain touches the valley, all the clouds are taught to fly
Bobo and Beau: *join in*
As our souls will leave this land most peacefully
Though our minds be filled with questions
In our hearts, we'll understand
When the river meets the sea
As we grow older and navigate through our lives, may Jerry be an inspiration to all of us, to always remember to sing, laugh, love, and stop on a set of stairs.
For some reason, I'm feeling a special connection to "Has Anybody Seen My Dog," listening to it again on MCR.
I just feel like the boy's mourning due to his dog relates to our morning, Jerry Nelson relating to the dog.
10 Things Jerry Nelson taught me:
1. Counting is a good way to pass time
2. If you want to get out of a wedding, hire a boomerang fish thrower
3. Everything has a fun side, even explosions
4. Being small isn't the difference, it's what you do with that fact that makes the difference
5. No matter...
Y'know, now, with the news today, Jerry's voice in that movie just means so much more to me now. I am really, really appreciative that they found a way that Jerry's magic could be in the movie.
I also really have to say thanks for this music marathon. I'm really enjoying remembering Jerry in this way.
I also really like that "Face Facts, Pack Snacks..." played, as I finally figured out the exact song that inspired the name of my blog. I could never really pinpoint it, I only could...
For me, I'm really torn. So many of his characters mean so much to me...Robin, Gobo, Floyd, The Count, even his voice. But ultimately, I think I'm going to have to go with Robin. Jerry breathed so much life into that little green frog.
